Salon Manager

Starting wage: $35,000 annually plus bonus commission, FREE Tanning & Spa services, plus huge employee discounts.

Managers keep the daily operations of an organization flowing smoothly. The Salon Manager reports to the Regional Manager and acts as a front-line extension of the Regional Manager's authority. A Salon Manager is responsible for ensuring that employees are present and following the established company policies and procedures. The Salon Manager provides support, direction and assistance to his/her team on all areas of their assigned duties. A Manager is a very important profession in our industry as customer satisfaction is directly dependent on the quality of the service we provide.

Scheduling and Staffing

Salon Managers are responsible for making the monthly shift schedule. You will assist with shift rotation, employee attendance and occasionally being on call when a member of staff cannot come in. Salon Managers are also reviewing time cards. You will review applications, perform interviews and hire new staff. Salon Managers will review their staff at regular intervals for performance and provide performance training documentation.

Inventory and Salon Maintenance

Salon Managers are responsible for taking the daily inventory of salon products and recording it and placing orders for products as well as salon supplies. Creatively address product display to attract attention and promote sales.

Keeping a list for salon maintenance and keeping it current for repairs and service along with scheduling deep cleaning of the tanning equipment. Any equipment failures or issues are to be reported directly to the Regional Manager and Maintenance personnel.

Communication

Communication is an essential job skill in areas of customer service and supervising staff. Salon Managers will provide updates and suggestions to the Regional Manager as well as communicate company policy and updates to staff. The Salon Manager encourages cross-team collaboration and setting the standard for performance.

Customer Service

The Salon Manager sets the standard for the rest of the staff, drawing on his/her creativity and insight to make the most of each customer's salon experience. You will partner with the Regional Manager to provide award winning customer service; build lasting relationships with customers, suggest new products, and remind them of the value of membership. You will manage wait time and create an inviting store atmosphere that will also create a great work environment. You will work alongside other staff ensuring that all company policies and procedures are upheld to the highest standards, resolving any customer complaints and/or working with the Regional Manager to do so.

Operations

The Salon Manager keeps staff informed of all new policy changes and stays abreast of administrative policies regarding memberships, paperwork, employee handbook and all things related to the running of the salon.

Duties (but not limited to)

  • Adhere to financial guidelines e.g. Expenditure salon overheads as laid down by Corporate.

  • To maintain and constantly review client service standards.

  • To work with Regional Manager in maintaining techniques in keeping with client's wishes and current trends.

  • To ensure salon cleanliness and maintenance is in keeping with the company's general policy on services.

  • To discipline and guide all members of staff to maximum potential, both technically and professionally for their individual benefit and future growth of the company.

  • To communicate through all staff levels of company policies, staff changes, company future plans, management satisfaction and dissatisfaction, feedback through correct channels of staff's criticisms, ensuring that these are given a satisfactory answer.

  • Together with the Regional Manager to plan future staff requirements to maintain staff levels and fluctuations in trade throughout the year.

  • To ensure smooth running of reception area in particular with overall responsibility for cash and paperwork procedures. To ensure where here is no receptionist that paperwork procedures are adhered to as laid down in the job description.

  • To action all directives whether verbal or written within the time specified through the correct channels. E.g. Staff grievances and complaint procedures.

  • To attend meetings with the Regional Manager.

  • To work closely with Regional Manager in promoting the Company's image through all media. Projecting a professional image to clients and staff and modeling the best skin that you can!

  • To advise clients and staff of all products available for retail purchase, in order that they keep their skin in good condition.

  • Maintain lotion supplies and salon supplies.

  • Train and keep training all staff.

  • Ensure that client's profile is updated as needed and to notify corporate if you feel there is an error.

  • Monitor and check daily receipts, bank bags and cash drawer for accuracy, make twice weekly deposits.

  • Maintain Operations Manual (Nuts and Bolts) and Managers Training Book

  • Mentor and train staff towards higher positions

  • Assist other locations with management when a location has a Salon Manager on vacation, on leave, or temporarily without management.

Salon Manager positions are not location specific. Salon Managers are expected to move to different locations to improve their skills.

Areas of focus include the coordination of licensing functions in accordance with local, State and Federal requirements, collaborating with internal/external partners, the execution of project plans and licensing tasks, monitoring and auditing compliance requirements and leading and developing the licensing team. Responsibilities * Lead the team responsible for ensuring all licensure requirements to sell and ship drugs or other regulated products or activities are maintained in accordance with local, State and Federal requirements (e.g. wholesale drug distribution, controlled substances, pharmacy, commercial feed, pesticides, etc). * Coordinate licensure processes and handling of government interactions associated with licensure. This includes, but is not limited to new licensing applications, renewal management, deficiencies, inspections, notifications and associated reporting. * Drive a culture of continuous improvement by enhancing processes and developing reporting or metrics to monitor and ensure timely execution of tasks. * Work closely with regulatory leadership and legal counsel regarding needed licenses to align with and enable the company business strategies. Stay current on any changes in regulations and maintain the legal guidance. * Develop and maintain professional contacts and relationships with various regulatory authorities regarding licensing and regulation changes which impact the company. * Provide regulatory services and guidance to key partners throughout the organization associated with licensing requirements, site inspections, accreditation requirements or other relevant issues. * Work closely with internal partners to ensure systems align with licensure requirements and monitoring and auditing is performed on a regular basis. * Support and collaborate with Distribution Operations or other internal partners on all VAWD (Verified-Accredited Wholesale Distributor) accreditation processes. * Provide leadership to ensure the Regulatory organization attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment that motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results. * Encourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skill development and goal setting. * Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree. * Minimum of 4 years of Regulatory or Compliance experience. * At least 2 years of leadership responsibility. * Experience with project management, including developing work plans, driving execution, ensuring an attention to details, and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet critical deadlines. * Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a collaborative and energetic style, comfortable with remote site communications. * Demonstrated ability leading continuous improvement initiatives. * Strong analytical, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills. * Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point, SharePoint and Visio. * Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work efficiently with limited supervision. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in pharmaceutical distribution, pharmacy or a similar field. * Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution regulations, licensing and accreditation standards (e.g. FDA, DEA, BOP, VAWD). * Experience researching and interpreting regulatory requirements. * Experience with license renewal procedures & other Regulatory procedures * Demonstrated experience in implementing lean six sigma methodology.
