Seeking an outgoing, self-motivated Salon Manager for SmartStyle hair salons located in Walmart Supercenter. Must be enthusiastic about making our guest look and feel beautiful while working in a fast paced environment with high guest traffic.

Pay: $14.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on guaranteed wage plus service & retail commissions and monthly bonuses)

The salon manager's primary role is to ensure the salon's profitability, ensure guest satisfaction by using the Moments of Truth, and generate an enthusiastic and professional environment where employees are continuously inspired, through effective leadership, to do their best and be successful. The manager must be a constant role model for all employees and inspire, respect, and provide creativity and understand the SmartStyle Brand Promise.


  • Provide quality haircuts.

  • Evaluate service provided by all salon employees.

  • Prevent and handle guest complaints.

  • Perform technical adjustments.

  • Document technical adjustments and follow-up with the stylist.

  • Monitor wait times, walks, and voids.

  • Schedule for guest convenience (not only employees).

  • Ensure accuracy of the weekly reports, goal setting, and scheduling.

  • Interview and hire staff.

  • Establish expectations during new employee orientation.

  • Provide feedback to employees and coach for success.

  • Follow-up on individual goals with the stylists.

  • Evaluate employee performance.

  • Set goals for individual employees and the salon.

  • Document important conversations, incidents, and goals.

  • Approve time off.

  • Conduct In-salon meetings.

  • Travel and attend Quarterly Management Meetings.

  • Take and verify inventory and place orders.

  • Ensure Salon is in compliance at all times with TDLR rules and regulations.

  • Salon Manager will be required to work a minimum of forty (40) hours each week including at least two evenings, every Saturday and a minimum of every other Sunday.

  • You must also be able to cover any shifts necessary to ensure the salon is staffed during the hours of operation.

The above list of duties is not all inclusive and additional duties may be requested of you from time to time by the management team.

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Current State Approved Cosmetology license.

  • Salon Management Experience

  • For the sign on bonus must have 2 years in-salon experience with ability to efficiently perform and teach/coach with team all services including color, highlights, color theory, perms, haircuts, styles, and waxing.

  • Customer service mind-set listen to and focus on guest needs.

  • Team player with a desire to learn new techniques and dedicated to your development as a Hair Stylist

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule - includes weekends and evenings

  • Effective ability to coach, lead, and inspire others.

  • Business management skills (goal setting, scheduling, cash management, reporting, etc.).

  • Leads by example.

  • Professional appearance and presence.
