What is a Salesperson?

Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieve our sales and service objectives. The role has good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge and basic part knowledge. The role has the basic ability to source from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers. The role has in-depth knowledge of the store inventory and maintenance processes. Position can be part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls

  • Achieve personal sales goal and help store achieve its sales goals

  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

  • Maintain store product and operational standards

  • Responsible for inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, Back stock, etc.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot

  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed

Success Factors

  • Basic driving and navigation ability

  • Ability to use delivery board system

  • Friendly communication

  • Ability to locate and stock parts

  • Safety knowledge and skills

  • Operating inventory systems and store equipment

  • Parts and automotive system knowledge skills

Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Salesperson

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals

  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Prior Experience that Sets a Salesperson up for Success

  • 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences

Applicants with strong communication skills (both written and verbal), project management and analytical/research ability are highly preferred. * Analyze HR data, including headcount, turnover and compensation; and identify trends * Conduct research and analysis on complex personnel issues * Assist in the management of FMLA, Worker's Comp, ACA and ADA requests including maintaining GA Activity analysis and working with DOAS to assist employees with workplace accommodations * Analyze reports and reconcile contents with agency records. (i.e. SHBP, FLEX, ERS & JRS) * Work with DOAS, SHBP & GA Breeze to resolve benefit issues; and, communicate benefit options to new & existing employees * Post, review & certify job requisitions & applications on Team Georgia Careers (Taleo) * Assist with complex leave audits for annual, sick and comp time using Absence Management to resolve discrepancies * Assist as needed with entry and verification of personnel transactions in PeopleSoft HCM to include; new hires, terminations, salary changes, position data updates and job re-classifications * Assist with the development, revision and maintenance of agency job descriptions and policies * Facilitate benefit trainings during the annual Open Enrollment and agency sponsored employee events & activities This is not an entry level position. Intermediate to advanced level skills in human resources are required. Required Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree from a college/university OR two years of human resources experience Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field AND two years of human resources experience as a lead worker/supervisor; experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis. Previous experience in a human resources work unit for a State of Georgia agency. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and customer service to internal and external customers.
