A Salesforce Engineer is an individual who can develop cloud-based applications through the force.com platform with an in-depth understanding of Salesforce and its limitations. A Salesforce developer must possess strong knowledge of VisualForce and Salesforce development with experience in coding using APEX. A good salesforce developer must possess knowledge of Java and various other programming languages.
Participates in software development on the Salesforce.com platform.
Contributes to the development effort by speaking about technical solutions, building prototypes and taking on coding assignments.
Attends daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives to plan, track, and code development tasks.
Translates simple to complex user stories into functional and actionable software within the Salesforce environment.
Collaborates on and informs cross-functional teams of new feature technical design, technical requirements, limitations, and implementation.
Work with team members to build knowledge and provide backup assistance.
Performs unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of new product functionality.
Ability to facilitate and actively participate in meetings with representatives from multiple business and/or IT units.
Be a strong technical leader who can work in environments with competing and alternating priorities, with a constant focus on delivery.
Continually refine business acumen and establish domain and industry expertise.
3-5 years of Salesforce development experience, including competencies with the Force.com Platform of Apex, VisualForce, SOQL and unit testing.
Understanding of cloud computing and/or web-based solutions and technologies.
Understanding of system and data integration architectures including familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
End to end exposure of developing apps, deploying apps, issues and limitations with the Force.com platform, salesforce governor limits, and how to address them.
Experience in deploying Force.com applications using VisualForce in creating User Interface, Apex for custom programming and setting up workflow rules.
Data migration from traditional systems to the Salesforce platform using the API and data load techniques.
Bachelor Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
Certified Platform Developer I Certification is preferred
ITIL Foundation certification is preferred
