ROLE OVERVIEW

The Business Technology Applications team at Benchling is looking for an experienced Salesforce Engineer who has deep experience scaling and optimizing a rapidly growing Salesforce instance. As a Senior Salesforce Engineer, you will work alongside BT development teams and other business stakeholders across the organization. Salesforce is one of our most critical business platforms, and this person will create and implement impactful processes and frameworks that ultimately guide and support the overall business strategies for our sales, customer experience and revenue teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the end-to-end Salesforce ecosystem at Benchling while developing a strong understanding of implementations of any related integrations with Salesforce

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Professional Services, Customer Experience, Product, Engineering, BT team members, and Stakeholders operating as a project owner

  • Work closely with other business systems team members on your direct team in order to understand and refine requirements, objectives, and processes to drive strategic solutions

  • Evaluate, select, implement, and integrate technology tools into a solution to support key business unit stakeholders

  • Implement Salesforce solutions that adhere to platform best practices, and perform peer and vendor code reviews

  • Design, build and test scalable enhancements such as custom objects, alerts, page layouts, and more within Salesforce

  • Build and configure APIs with internal and 3rd party cloud solutions

  • Improve and build solutions to address architectural gaps or technical debt

  • Monitor performance and scalability and refactor existing sub-optimal feature functionality

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5+ years of Salesforce application development experience

  • Certified Platform App Builder, Platform Developer 1 & 2, Administrator 201

  • Experienced either in Java, Go, Python

  • Experience in Lightning, Apex, VisualForce, SOQL/SOSL, and Javascript

  • Experienced with Salesforce SOAP API, REST API, and BULK API

  • Experienced with Web UI frameworks in Visualforce pages or Lightning components

  • Experienced with data management and data migration principles and application

  • Experienced in Jira, Agile, Scrum, CI/CD

  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Have a business-first approach to building systems and applications. You care about the business impact of your technical work

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience

SALARY RANGE

Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $166,260 to $224,940.
