Under general direction of the Director of Customer Relationship Technology, the Application Developer- Salesforce.com role requires a unique combination of business acumen, analytical problem solving paired with technical/functional aptitude in Salesforce. The ideal candidate has experience thinking from a business perspective to consult with internal stakeholders and deliver successful end-to-end solutions via CRM systems. They will be the key consultant to internal stakeholders, and act as Salesforce system administrator/developer, and work with other functional leaders and business operations colleagues to implement solutions for the business. They will also act as a thought leader, best practice driver, and an expert in maximizing the effectiveness and adoption of the various CRM tools within the organization. Reporting to the Director, CRM Technology this role is key in executing initiatives directly tied to enabling ICS's full client lifecycle.
This position will play a key role in assessing, developing, deploying, supporting and improving business systems that deliver best in class technology experiences for both internal stakeholders and ICS's customers.
Individuals within the Application Development role work closely with clients, business analysts and team members to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and are in compliance with the organizations architectural standards. Application Developers are involved in the full systems life cycle and therefore are responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities beyond development of software may include participation in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing processes and buy vs. build recommendations. Individuals also provide input to project plans related to the application development initiative.
Application Developers have a strong knowledge of programming languages used by the organization. They have experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies. Knowledge of current and emerging IT products, services and processes is required. Individuals must be able to adjust to constant business change. Common types of changes include introduction of new organizations through mergers and acquisitions, evolving goals and strategies and emerging technologies. These changes require integration of solutions that can impact the overall system development activity.
Application Developers also provide client support, consultation and subject matter expertise for system development, maintenance and support. This associate works on moderately to complex tasks in support of one or more project as a project team member, or independently on small projects. They may support multiple applications and have increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge of a specific business area.
Bachelor's degree in Programming/Systems or Computer Science or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically requires 3-8 years of programming experience. Requires programming experience with mid to advanced level application development.
At least two years' experience serving in a Senior Salesforce.com administrator /Developer role is preferred
Proficient in data management. Experience with Data Loader and other data scrubbing and reporting tools strongly preferred.
Experience with the Salesforce API is preferred.
2 year experience with Apex and Visualforce development is preferred.
Solid understanding of accounts, leads, opportunities and contacts.
Experience understanding and analyzing business needs, designing solutions based on needs, documenting functional requirements and assessing business impact.
Experience with systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and system management processes, including requirements management, design, configuration and user acceptance testing.
Strong team player with a customer service-oriented attitude.
Demonstrated organizational skills and detail orientation with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of computers necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs.
Salesforce.com Administrator and Developer certifications are preferred
