Salesforce Deployment And Devops Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a Salesforce Deployment and DevOps Engineer for our Fabrics business who will be responsible for managing and executing the release and deployment of the Salesforce Platform and Clouds for changes across the different environments (e.g. Development, Testing, QA, Production). This role will be responsible for the seamless deployment of Salesforce configurations, customizations, and releases while maintaining the stability, performance, and integrity of the Salesforce Platform. The Salesforce Deployment Engineer will need to have a strong understanding of the Salesforce and Copado (or other deployment tool) architecture, release management processes, and deployment best practices.

This position offers multiple work arrangements: on-site at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, hybrid, or fully remote work allowed in most locations within the United States, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute Salesforce deployments, including metadata, configurations, and customizations across multiple environments and Clouds using Copado or other deployment tools

• Establish and maintain the development, testing, QA, EDU, and production environments using version control and ensuring environment consistency

• Work closely with cross-functional team to communicate and coordinate deployment schedule and activities (design, development, data migration, Salesforce environment management, and deployments) and troubleshoot deployment issues and conflicts to ensure successful Salesforce deployments

• Develop, support, and maintain deployment scripts, tools, and processes to streamline and improve Salesforce deployment and DevOps activities, be responsible for all aspects of the tools in support of our end-to-end DevOps Software Development Lifecycle Processes

• Follow and enforce change management processes to ensure compliance with division change processes

• Create and maintain documentation for deployment processes, release notes, deployment configurations, and deployment tool configuration/customization.

• Utilize expertise with branching strategies, version control, merging strategies, conflict resolution, pipeline automation and orchestration utilizing tools like Copado and BitBucket/GitHub

• Support post deployment activities, including Dataload, Code Comparison and Data backup

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Salesforce Deployment Engineer or similar deployment role with understanding of Salesforce architecture, deployment tools, and release management processes

• Minimum 1 year of experience with test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Copado Robotic Testing) and Static Code Analysis tools (e.g. CodeScan and PMD)

• Experience in Salesforce deployment tools, ideally Copado, with understanding of version control and devops practices

• Excellent knowledge and experience on CI/CD deployment and DevOps processes

• Salesforce Admin and/or Salesforce App Builder Certification or similar

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate/translate technical concepts in a business framework that are easily understood by non-technical people

• Ability to effectively coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and other technical Associates to resolve challenges and meet business objectives

• Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment using good judgement and logic

• Ability to travel 5%
