Job Summary
The Sales Tax Analyst within our State and Local Tax Practice will be responsible for providing day-to-day services, focusing on sales tax compliance matters for clients across various industries. This role involves preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns for multiple clients, managing sales tax filing calendars, addressing filing issues, resolving state notices, and assisting in managing the entire sales tax compliance process. The Sales Tax Analyst will collaborate as part of a team of sales tax practitioners within the State and Local Tax practice at Elliott Davis, LLC. No prior experience in sales and use tax compliance is required as we offer training and supervision. This role also offers the flexibility to work remotely and is hourly-based.

Responsibilities
Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations.
The primary focus of this position will be sales and use tax compliance, but there may be exposure to property taxes, gross receipts taxes, credits and incentives, and unclaimed property.
Prepare sales tax returns, forms, work papers and supporting schedules, and client deliverables for assigned projects.
Assist with sales tax notice resolution.
Prepare sales tax registrations and other forms.
Perform basic research to resolve state and local tax issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Some prior sales and use tax compliance experience preferred. We will provide training.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
Individuals wanting a business oriented position preferred.
Experience in a business office environment preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
Ability to take initiative, be self-directed and results oriented.
Ability to work additional hours to meet filing deadlines, as needed.
Travel up to 10% of the time may be required
