Job Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist(s) will directly support the Construction division Account and Territory Managers by preparing sales quotations and providing other support as necessary.

Details & Essential Functions:

  • Quote Preparation: Support the Construction Division sales team by preparing customer sales quotations utilizing the Web based Quotation System for customer inquiries of all quote types.

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Data entry of interactions and updates related to contacts and opportunities as needed to assist the sales funnel management process.

  • Communication: Communicate directly with customers as needed to support the sales team in order to increase velocity in the sales process.

  • Other: provide additional support to sales management and representatives which may include, but is not limited to: CRM support, reporting, data analysis, market research and development of sales presentations.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced sales environment.

  • Strong organizational skills are essential to manage multiple tasks.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to quickly learn product information and master usage of various software programs.

  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Caterpillar product knowledge is helpful, but not required.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 25 pounds

  • Must be able to use a PC up to 100% of working hours

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in a business discipline is preferred

  • Three or more years of strong administrative support experience, demonstrating ability to quickly learn to use various computer systems is strongly preferred.

  • An appropriate combination of education, skills and experience will be considered

Completion or active pursuit of insurance education, such as the Program in General Insurance (INS 21, 22, 23) or INTRO courses, preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. All Employees with a telecommuting arrangement in which they consistently work remotely during part, or all, of their work schedule must have in their regular remote work location, access to business class internet service providing 3 megabytes (3 MBs) or more of bandwidth.
