Position Summary

As a Print Sales Support Representative you are responsible to support the Print & Marketing Services Account Consultants for transactional order support, follow through and customer service issues for their established accounts, often times working directly with the customers. You would manage these responsibilities through product and service knowledge and utilization of available resources and tools. Support of multiple Print Account Consultant area sales teams will result in revenue generation and growth in customer retention resulting from satisfaction with products and services sold to them.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Places orders through appropriate P&MS partners e.g. Staples Promotional Products, Non Stock Procurement, Digital Copy Facilities and Staples Retail

  • Keeps detailed status report of all jobs in production and estimated delivery

  • Follows up on all orders to assure delivery to customer as promised; follows up on customer concerns

  • Communicates with Account Consultant team and Area Sales Manager daily on status and or issues related to production progress

  • Takes the lead on obtaining customer proof approval; troubleshoots and works with the customer and business partners to resolve and minimize common production obstacles

  • Orders samples for client review as needed

  • Provides recommendations to customers on how to utilize reorder services, best spend opportunities, etc.

  • Provide timely updates to Area Sales Manager and Account Consultants on task progress and completion

  • Pull daily reports utilizing as relates to daily/weekly sales productivity

  • Other duties, as assigned by the Team Manager or Area Sales Manager.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous customer service experience and/or account management

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with customers, account managers, and other partners; strong telephone communication skills

  • Excellent written communication skills to professionally communicate with customers, account managers, and partners

  • Print experience preferred

  • Ability to develop relationships based on strong interpersonal communication skills and engagement

  • Time management, organization, and follow-through skills. Ability to work independently

  • Ability to work under pressure of order deadlines regardless of interruptions

  • Ability to learn product, pricing and company policy information

  • Basic PC skills including ability to navigate in a windows environment and proficiency in software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Demonstrated record of consistently good attendance/punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Identify and anticipate business partner requirements, expectations and needs

  • Previous copy and print in a sales or production environment
