The Sales Support Manager plays an integral role in supporting our sales team, broker network and senior leadership team by performing two unique, yet highly integrated functions: leading all market research and sales analytics functions, and then successfully leveraging these insights into actionable formats that facilitate an accelerated level of profitability, sales growth and overall market share/ACV. Primary responsibilities include:

SALES ANALYSIS RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leading all primary and secondary market research and analysis initiatives including managing all related projects (internal or external) from inception to completion
  • Proactively updating all relevant consumer, channel or marketing trends
  • Retrieval and aggregation of relevant internal and external data into easily digestible and actionable formats
  • Ongoing analysis of customer, product and channel-specific volumes and margins
  • Assisting senior leadership in optimizing pricing, margin, promotional and product assortment decisions
  • Identifying potential new market, channel, product or promotional opportunities
  • Building effective presentation templates for the sales team to support customer presentations and category business reviews

SALES SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the setup and maintenance of all customer portals and vendor setup requirements, including reviewing and submitting new item forms, pricing updates and master vendor agreements
  • Coordinating the use of outside sales and marketing support resources such as food photographers, graphic designers, printers
  • Maintaining the company's online sales portal and internal product specification database
  • Project managing the on-time and on-budget completion of all print and electronic projects through all phases of the project from inception to completion
  • Assisting in the production of in-house sales and marketing materials, including company presentations, press kits, point of purchase items, and sell sheets leverage insights gained from market research work
  • Supporting all trade show and distributor events, including the coordination of booth setup, product sample and display shipments, merchandising support materials, booth maintenance and return shipment
  • Assisting customer service (as needed) with order entry, logistics tracking, and responding to customer inquires
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a food, CPG or related product environment selling to large retail chains, big box stores and/or national distributors or previous experience as a category buyer, merchant or analyst
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • category management knowledge and experience highly desirable
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • High level of analytical thinking
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Self-motivated professional who holds themselves accountable but is not afraid to ask for help when deadlines are in jeopardy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders simultaneously
  • "Roll up your sleeves" attitude when it comes to working within tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel occasionally (on an as needed basic) to attend trade shows or other related events
  • BS required/MBA highly preferable

The Sales and Support Generalist will likely spend the majority of their time in two of these skill areas and will have the opportunity to learn other skills as needed.
