Working as Part-Time Sales Support, you must have a strong interest in sales and enjoy working in a fast-paced challenging environment. This is an entry level position that will provide assistance to our customers from our branch located at 947 E Lacey Blvd, Hanford, CA 93232.


The duties and responsibilities of this position are service-based and will present new and diverse challenges daily. Duties include, but are not limited to:

oAssisting with sales/customer service

oManaging inventory

oPlacing and fulfilling orders

oReceiving and shipping inventory

oPerforming deliveries with company vehicle


The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o18 years of age or over

oA valid driver's license and the ability to meet our driving record requirements

oPossess or are working towards a degree in Business/Marketing OR have equivalent industry experience and knowledge of the local market

oExcellent written and oral communication skills

oPossess strong computer skills and math aptitude

oExhibit strong aptitude for sales and a desire to sell

oHighly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented

oDemonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

oAbility to lift, slide and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs

oAbility to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

VIEW JOBS 11/3/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-01T00:00 JOB OPPORTUNITY The Human Services Agency is seeking a motivated and experienced candidate in personnel management with strong analytical skills who is highly organized, ethically sound, able to develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships, and able to exercise sound judgment. The Staff Support Manager is a single-position classification utilized in the Administrative Division of the Human Services Agency. The incumbent reports to the Director or designee and is responsible for coordinating, executing, and directing various departmental administrative services in support of personnel management and staffing in the Human Services Agency. The Staff Support Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of the departmental personnel services, training and manages administrative staff performing related support duties in the Human Services Agency. Additionally, the Staff Support Manager acts as the designated Agency Civil Rights Coordinator and conducts administrative investigations of complaints of violations of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Management Level II Benefits: This position includes management level II benefits which includes CalPERS retirement (see benefits section to determine plan/tier placement), fully paid PPO health, dental, vision and chiropractic health insurance premiums for employees and eligible dependents, onsite health center for employees and eligible dependents on County health insurance, additional 64 hours of management leave, and term life insurance. The County of Kings has one anticipated vacancy of Staff Support Manager in the Human Services Agency. Future vacancies for this position may be filled from the eligible list to be established. The expected life of the eligible list is six months. DUTY SAMPLE Duties include but are not limited to those described below. Plans, organizes, supervises and directs various confidential administrative and departmental services; oversees the coordination and maintenance of the Human Services Agency's personnel functions and services; works with department managers, deputies, assistant director and director to prioritize and communicate departmental recruitment needs; manages the department level interview process and onboarding of personnel; oversees and may personally perform exit interviews; consults County Human Resources on a variety of personnel matters including but not limited to recruitments, hiring and pre-employment procedures, absence and leaves management, employee evaluations requirements, confidential personnel records maintenance, potential disciplines, personnel actions, Personnel Rules and M.O.U. compliance, etc.; oversees department level absence and leave management process; responsible for appropriate and timely scheduling and completion of meetings, notifications and tracking related to FMLA and other leave entitlements; ensures department employees are aware of their leave rights, and ensures the County's legal and contract requirements are met; confers with and advises the department head and Human Services Administration on personnel activities ensuring that department administration is advised of impending personnel matters and that Human Resources is appropriately consulted; coordinates civil rights activities, investigating client and discrimination issues as directed by the state; ensures civil rights compliance including responsibility for completion of annual plan; works as the primary contact with the State for resolution of complaints; receives and coordinates incoming investigation requests from State entities related to departmental staff and related programs; writes responses to the State for completed investigations; works with the agency management to establish protocols and complete department investigations and reports that will be utilized by management to make appropriate decisions; within scope of authority investigates alleged policy violations (i.e., breach of confidentiality) and employee complaints normally investigated at the department level; prepares reports and makes recommendations to the appropriate manager; trains and evaluates subordinate staff; assigns work and oversees workflow process of subordinate staff; assists in the development, updating and review of the Agency's Administrative policies and procedures, and the supervisor's handbook; confers with and advises agency staff on Agency's policy and procedure matters; assists and makes recommendations with staffing and organizational changes; assesses Agency's training needs and coordinates identified training; coordinates staff development and training activities with trainers and outsides vendors; evaluates the effectiveness of training programs; trains supervisors on Agency's procedures and policies; provides, or ensures provision of, Departmental Orientation training to new hires and transfers; reports serious staff misconduct including sexual harassment complaints to County Human Resources; consults County Counsel and Human Resources regarding guidance on subpoenas; reviews and makes recommendations on Department of Justice (DOJ) notifications, Department of Motor Vehicle Pull Notices, and applicant/employee reference and verification of employment checks; consults Human Resources regarding drug testing including, but not limited to, pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accidents in county vehicles; reviews and interprets complex laws, policies and regulations; directs the preparation of statistical and other department personnel reports; prepares a wide variety of correspondence, departmental handbooks and procedures; represents the Agency at community organizations, public gatherings and with other governmental agencies; represents and serves on state, regional and/or local governmental and community agency committees; may assist Human Resources and Risk Management with interactive processes; may oversee preparation and distribution of materials for employee orientation, such as handbooks and newsletters; ensures that objectives, practices and execution of training programs, department personnel practices and procedures, and investigations are compatible with mission, philosophy and standards of the Human Services Agency performs other job-related duties as required. Desirable: Personnel experience in a human services setting. License: Possession of a valid, appropriate California driver's license issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Special Requirements: Some positions may require the ability to qualify for security clearance through a background investigation and/or a fingerprint check. Requires ability to occasionally work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, as assigned. Work environment: Work primarily in an office environment including sitting at a desk operating modern office equipment, including computer equipment and up-to-date software programs, on the phone and in contact with others; regularly working with files and with general office equipment; hear and communicate orally, in person and on the phone; travel to trainings and attend committees. Must have vision and hand/eye coordination for use of computer/office equipment, to drive and to read and handle legal materials and files; physical agility and strength sufficient to keyboard/operate a computer, handle files and to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow safe work practices as directed and trained.
