JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the sales process for FCC including managing all broker and general agent relationships. Coordinates the implementation of new accounts and directing ongoing relations and client/employer services; Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, account managers, sales staff, and client contacts; Must be able to thrive in a fast paced changing environment and make sound business decisions while working under pressure and deadlines; Works with Underwriting to ensure competitive products are filed and approved.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Insurance Producer NC License Life and Health upon hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Four to six years of health insurance sales experience preferably in a managed care organization or a working knowledge of the managed care and insurance within an associated Integrated healthcare delivery system.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Customer service and team building skills; Office automation/personal computer skills; Must possess the ability to analyze complex data, think creatively and logically, demonstrate strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and be an effective and persuasive communicator; Analytical and statistical skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordination and focus on developing product awareness in the employers and members.
Lead the sales process and work with brokers and General Agents to ensure sales goals are achieved and meet FirstCarolinaCare financial targets.
Participate in establishing client management and marketing goals.
Carry out day-to-day client and marketing activities delineated in annual marketing plan, including preparing sales proposals, enrollment of members, educational program presentations and customer service activities.
Participate in establishing measurable indicators of client and member satisfaction.
Assist in the development of communication materials, collateral materials and publications.
Develops and coordinates program to benchmark departmental performance against appropriate regional and national norms, consistent with FirstCarolinaCare philosophy.
Participate with Underwriting and Finance on development of benefit offerings and other financial aspects of the client activities.
Plans, directs, and coordinates daily, weekly and ongoing account management activities.
Assures that activities are in compliance with regulatory statutes and corporate policies.
Provides consulting assistance to client and feedback to management as necessary to assist client in benefit design issues.
Assures appropriate educational activities are made available to client businesses.
Assures compliance with database management requirements of FCC and corporate organization.
Develops and implements educational programs concerning sales issues relevant to account management.
Provides analyses and reporting in support of account management process, preparing reports as required by various agencies and FirstCarolinaCare management.
