The Best Buy Core Sales Supervisor manages the daily functions of a department from customer experiences to employee interactions. Our Core Sales Supervisor is responsible for coaching and training the sales team to provide exceptional customer experiences and meet business results by achieving revenue, margin, and operational targets. The Core Sales Supervisor maintains a broad scope of knowledge in technology products and services through required trainings or certifications and leadership development.

Our Core Sales Supervisor builds quality relationships with retail consumers to provide them with relevant and memorable products, services, and technology expertise. In addition, they're responsible for partnering with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure sales merchandising, inventory and Asset Protection standards are proactively met. They also work closely with the Assistant Store Manager and General Manager to provide feedback, strategize, and execute on the overall leadership processes within the store including employee interviews, scheduling, store maintenance, and performance management.

Key accountabilities:

  • Creates relationships and identify customer needs while recommending appropriate solutions to drive both individual and team sales, margin, accessories and overall performance.

  • Applies extensive sales experience, knowledge and expertise to act as the Subject Matter Expert in each department. This includes validating or approving product pricing, signage, availability and display functions of all ad items.

  • Provides leadership to the sales staff including setting clear expectations, giving direction, mentoring, and providing development of department sales personnel.

  • Contributes to the delivery of optimal customer service by recruiting, training, scheduling and retaining customer focused full-time and part-time department personnel

  • Resolve complex customer issues or escalations as needed while proactively equipping line-level associates with tools on addressing customer concerns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in leadership

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service or related field

  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of holidays, nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in business or related field

  • 1+ years consumer electronics experience

  • Prior experience setting retail sales goals

Position Summary The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage at all times. The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor has responsibility for both customer facing activities (e.g., greeting customer, clarifying needs and identifying solutions, closing sales) and non-facing activities (e.g., downstocking, inventory management, area recovery). The individual in this role ensures his/her area of the store is in-stock and customer ready at all times while inspiring engaging, customer-focused behavior and driving his/her team to achieve sales and margin goals. The Sales Floor Dept Supervisor must keep management informed, delegate and follow-up on daily tasks, and maintain a clean, safe and secure work environment. In addition to supervising associates in his/her own area, the Sales Floor Dept Supervisor must lead associates in other departments, as needed, to meet the demands of the store. This requires broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. In addition to the responsibilities summarized above, individuals in this role may occasionally open or close the store, or serve as manager-on-duty (MOD). Job Requirements This is an hourly full time role generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store. Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Requires physical ability to move large, bulky and/or heavy merchandise with or without a reasonable accommodation. Also requires physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and/or walking with or without a reasonable accommodation.
