What we do:

The Sales Strategy team is the sales enablement arm of the client-facing organization with a focus on supporting revenue growth across The Trade Desk. The Sales Strategy team partners with Sales and Client Service to provide best-in-class strategic pitch materials - rich in storytelling. The team also works cross-functionally with product, marketing, insights, business intelligence, training and other teams to ensure alignment between sales collateral and The Trade Desk's capabilities, product features, roadmaps, advertising solutions and positioning within the broader AdTech ecosystem.

As the Sales Strategy Manager (NAMER Agency - Independents), you will be focused on supporting a team of sellers across North America mapped to Independent agencies to provide dedicated partnership across a variety of engagements, both reactive and proactive. Your role will be focused on integrating within your assigned stakeholder group(s) to upsell and pursue across a range of revenue-driving initiatives. You will support sellers in conversations that span multiple teams at the agency including senior leadership, strategy and planning, investment (video and programmatic), and analytics, the brand client increasingly having a seat at the table.

From a client-driven storytelling perspective, you will be pioneering best-in-class, bespoke, client-specific, revenue-driving narratives for stakeholder-requested topics. These narratives will then be applied flexibly across clients, while synthesizing feedback to optimize storytelling needs.

At the Manager level, it is expected that you have a multi-market/global perspective integrated your thought process and decision-making and have a strategic mindset towards evaluating the pros and cons of what work we take on and its "needle-moving" implications. You should be thinking about how to improve what we do through process improvement and be very resilient with the setbacks and struggles faced day-to-day. The "how" you do it, as opposed to what "what" you do, becomes of paramount importance.

With this role, we are looking for someone who has a passion for synthesizing complex solutions into simplified sales narratives that clearly communicate The Trade Desk's value to agencies; you are also beginning to create custom narrative for clients addressing asks across a variety of topic areas. With your developed expertise around The Trade Desk's platform and product offering, you'll own the creation of sales collateral, both reactive and proactive, that displays your understanding of the macro marketing environment

in which your work exists. As your comfortability grows, you'll have opportunities to become an established, skilled, and experienced operator in key areas that align with the business's growth drivers.

What you'll do:

  • Learn the business inside and out. You become very familiar with The Trade Desk's platform, product offering, resources, competitive advantages and, more generally, programmatic strategies.

  • Think strategically. Analyze business proposals and requests to help identify and create top quality and accurate responses.

  • Be a storyteller. Leverage The Trade Desk's industry-leading position and technology to clearly and succinctly articulate how we can help contribute to client success, tailoring for individual brands.

  • Following a request submitted by the client-facing teams, you will lead the RFP/RFI process of pulling together the team and needs in response. This includes completion of RFI documents, plus creation of external-facing materials such as media plans and pitch decks.

  • Work with internal teams to organize and develop the sales teams' knowledge about key company initiatives and products, plus seasonal and vertical insights.

  • Partner with sales to understand the prospecting strategy, and to research brands and marketplace trends that will focus on opportunities, competition, and positioning.

  • At the core, you will have a passion for synthesizing complex solutions into simplified sales narratives with an eye towards revenue generation.

Who you are:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about sales marketing and the advertising industry.

  • Interested in the most powerful form of digital advertising...programmatic.

  • With 6+ years of level relevant experience in sales development, media planning, digital strategy, sales/corporate strategy or consulting; ideally within Ad Tech, a media agency, the television or streaming industry or media consulting.

  • Experienced working across several channels, preferably including CTV and DOOH.

  • A customer-focused, strategic and analytical thinker who can execute tactically to formulate a cohesive narrative utilizing a data-driven approach. Experienced in research undertaken using both internal and external tools which can then be used to develop insights for clients.

  • An independent worker, self-motivated and determined also able to work well with ambiguity and use initiative to get the job done.

  • An excellent communicator, with the proven ability to articulate thoughts and ideas to internal and external stakeholders through superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • A team player who participates and leads discussions; share best practices and knowledge with other Sales Strategy members globally.

  • A quick learner who's able to grasp new technology and product changes and able to turn a concept or idea into substantive sales materials.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to produce high-quality work that represents The Trade Desk in-market.

  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Salesforce (RFP/I management software desirable).

  • Four-year college degree level education.

The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is$84,600-$155,100 USD
