The DCS (Commercial Global Storage business) Sales Strategy and Planning Sr. Consultant will support ad-hoc Analytics, Global Organizational Strategy and Executive Presentations. This is a critical role in the fast paced DCS business that requires strong analytical skills, partnering skills and extremely strong communication skills along with the ability to work cross functionally with different teams. The ideal candidate will be a leader/innovator building out this new functionality within the DCS team. This role is key to identifying and driving key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Sales Strategy & Planning (SSP) team supports Finance and Operations for the Commercial Global Storage business. Our scopes Global Centralization for Sales, Presales and Specialty roles within the Commercial Organization and is a member of the broader DCC (formally GCN) Operations organization. As a team member you will support the organization across a broad scope of operational needs.

  • Key contact for regional and global leaders on strategic projects.

  • Work closely to develop assumptions and analytics with global GTM/Strategy teams.

  • Build Assumptions and Plans into Executive Ready presentations.

  • Point person for organizational projects controlling data, communications and the overall execution/implementation plans.

  • Use data to help solve business problems as they arise. This could span a broad range of topics/asks.

  • Execution of business transformation priorities

  • High engagement with regional sales leaders to ensure to implement strategies and programs.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Minimum 12 months of experience in an Operations, Sales Support or Finance role

  • Advanced written and verbal skills in English is required

  • Education- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred

  • Pro-level proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint. SQL is plus. Prior examples of advanced BI and operational reporting will need to be supplied

  • Demonstrate experience working with BMS and other internal reporting teams preferred

  • Experience with building Leader presentations (PPT)

  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity. Self-starter who is comfortable working with various teams with little guidance

  • Ability to prioritize tasks while getting requests completed on time

  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain complex analysis

  • Prior roles in finance, business planner, compensation, data quality or in sales operations are plus

Overview: We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Business Strategy Consultant within the Strategy, Communications and Training team. This role will report to the SRO Director of Strategy & Communications. The Business Strategy Consultant will utilize a broad-based skillset to manage the strategic planning cycle for the Security & Resiliency office, relying on comprehension of organization design and mission support, process improvement, strategy development and transformation, change management, and business and IT strategy. This role will work closely with all security domains (i.e. cybersecurity, supply chain security, product and application security, physical security, and enterprise resiliency) and support services to set annual and multi-year strategic plans and cascade the strategy through project and budget planning. The Business Strategy Consultant will participate in projects that include analysis and recommendations related to emerging industry trends, threat and risk landscape, changes in regulation, security technology, measures and metrics, and business process improvement. This role will assist Security & Resiliency leaders with developing business cases for new and enhanced initiatives and transformation efforts. On an ongoing basis, the Business Strategy Consultant will investigate and research existing and new opportunities which contribute to the overall strategic direction of the office. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Manages annual and multi-year Security & Resiliency strategic planning process resulting in a strategic plan that is easily understood and applied * Works with the communications team to develop presentations and briefing documents to effectively communicate the strategy and key strategic initiatives to all parts of the company * Supports development of business cases, applies strategic considerations to ensure alignment to the strategic plan and key initiatives and coordinates closely with program management and budget teams * Collaborates with the metrics analytics team to create and measure KPIs and KRIs on execution of the strategic plan * Continuous participation and partnership with other departments and businesses within Dell, and building/managing relationships across Dell to ensure alignment of Security & Resiliency key initiatives with key stakeholders (i.e. IT, Legal, HR, etc.) Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree with 12+ years relevant experience; or Master's degree with 8+ years experience; or equivalent experience * 10+ years of experience related to corporate strategy, strategic planning and analytics * Experience conducting maturity and gap assessments against industry standards (i.e. NIST CSF, ISO, etc.) and developing roadmaps to achieve target state * Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to connect business objectives and Security & Resiliency strategy * Ability to discuss and present complex strategic topics at a senior management level * Strong project management and organizational skills to deliver projects aligned with corporate initiatives * Solid analytical, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and written/verbal skills * Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical ability to conduct structured strategic analysis * Travel Requirements: if located remotely, must be willing to travel to Austin frequently (approximately 30-40%) Preferred/Nice to Have: * MBA preferred * Experience in technology and/or security industry Benefits We offer highly competitive salaries, bonus programs, world-class benefits, and unparalleled growth and development opportunities — all to create a compelling and rewarding work environment.
