Janssen Ortho LLC, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting a Sales Representative for Puerto Rico, supporting the Cardiovascular or Metabolism Business Unit. This position is based in the facility located in Guaynabo, PR but will be field based.

Janssen Pharmaceuticals is the PR Sales and Marketing Division for the pharmaceutical products of Johnson and Johnson. As the Sales Representative, you will:

  • Fulfill sales strategies by selling Janssen products within an assigned geographical territory.

  • Interact with sales and marketing management in setting up product and market initiatives.

  • Be responsible of attaining sales and market share objectives for assigned geographical area.

  • Demonstrate product knowledge and assist others in gaining product knowledge, articulate added value for the customer, provide product support/information as needed, achieve sales quota, and demonstrate active listening skills and respond appropriately.

  • Demonstrate and assist others in the use of data to take relevant business decisions for the territory and identifies new or different ways to increase sales goals.

  • Consistently close business to achieve business objectives, demonstrate excellent knowledge of markets in all areas relevant to internal and external customers: such as, clinical, technical, health economics.

  • Build positive and productive customer relationships with key providers for the purpose of demand creation for all assigned products/therapeutic areas.

  • Execute market development activities for the products and indication within approved product label.

  • Provide feedback on customers, promotional programs, and environmental changes, and provide ideas to improve product and company performance in the marketplace.

  • Develop a complete understanding of the health care system, use compliant negotiation techniques to sell and promote the products, compile/enhance customer database that documents appropriate customer information and contacts that can be shared across the organization, monitor progress and adjust customer plans as needed, achieve pre-call planning objectives, operate within assigned territory budget and complete expense reports bi-weekly.

  • Represent Company in conventions and educational programs.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a business or scientific field.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sales is required.

  • Cardiovascular, Metabolism and Institutional/Hospitals experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated track record of producing solid results in a functional group or commercial operations is preferred.

  • Ability to have cross-functional communication and relation with internal partners is required.

  • Knowledge of reimbursement, payer landscape, short- and long-term sales potential relevant to percentage of patients treated, patient mix, Manage Care organizations and contracts, and new protocols or new treatments modalities that impact business potential is preferred.

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (oral and written) is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.

  • This position will be field base and requires up to ten percent (10%) of domestic travel.

  • Availability to work extra hours or weekends as per the business needs is required.
