Our client, a leading International Distributor of plastic resin, is seeking a Sales Representative to add to their growing team! They were founded in 1967, and celebrating nearly 50 years of outstanding service to the plastics industry. Our client distributes a full range of commodity thermoplastic resins for some of the best-known manufacturers in the industry. Their customer base includes custom and proprietary manufacturers of plastic products; injection molders, blow molders, compounders and extruders.

A training period of roughly 12 months, depending on the individual, will take place at their regional office, where the trainee will learn all facets of the business including marketing, selling techniques, technical product knowledge, customer service, and more while preparing to step out into the field. Upon successful completion of training, the individual will be promoted to full time field sales and be assigned a territory. The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has a desire to make sales a career.

Once promoted, the job will consist of the following:

  • Develop and maintain a customer base consisting of new and existing accounts
  • Travel within assigned territory to service and visit with customers
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Develop forecasts for monthly, quarterly, and yearly demand and goals
  • Maintain CRM profiles on all current, potential, and target account

  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills and relationship management skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point
  • Must possess excellent organization, prioritization and follow-up skills
  • Motivated, ambitious self-starters, with ability to think outside of the box
  • Familiar with CRM systems, preferred but not required
  • Individuals with previous sales experience should have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in polymer industry is ideal, but not necessary
