Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Georgia's Alpharetta office is growing and currently seeking a Sales Producer to join our Personal Lines/Private Client Division. This individual will be responsible for personal lines insurance account sales, prospecting, working with the client/prospect on the financial and contractual features of their insurance plans, and for coordinating with the Account Manager as necessary.

As a Personal Lines Sales Producer, you will work with consumer clients on a daily basis tailoring to their personal insurance needs. New sales are the focus of the position and cross sales of existing clients is also encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a market plan with direction and assistance from Personal Lines Leader and Profit Center Leader

  • Develop potential clients by making presentations to local civic, trade, and community groups on the subject of personal risk management, as well as prospects form the agency's Commercial & Benefits Departments.

  • Foster and build relationships with centers of influence, colleagues, and clients

  • Continually identify and locate prospects

  • Contact prospects via personal visits, email, phone, and direct mail to qualify a prospect for both eligibility and acceptability (to include financial, health, stability, and profitability)

  • Determine present scope of insurance coverage analyze existing exposures

  • Complete personal risk management evaluations to determine prospect's insurance needs

  • Counsel and present alternative insurance solutions and products via insurance proposals

  • Present proposals and follow-up with client/prospect

  • Gather all information necessary for complete submissions to Carriers

  • Work collaboratively with the account management team and local/regional colleague to mutually provide exceptional customer service

  • Create prospecting reports, as requested by Personal Lines Leader and Profit Center Leader

  • Keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, including product line offerings, and changing insurance consumer trends and needs

  • Consistently successfully achieve individual new business sales goals, as well as actively contribute to achievement of team and company-wide goals through cross-selling opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge and experience of personal lines insurance, including: coverage, rating, terminology, and technical procedures

  • 3+ years experience in personal lines sales

  • Experience selling in affluent market highly preferred

  • Georgia P&C License

  • 4-year College degree

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Polished, well-mannered, and confident

  • Driven for success with strong sales aptitude

  • Ability to work independently; self-managing

  • Team player

  • Proficient with MS Office products, general computer skills, and internet navigation

  • Familiar with AMS360, ImageRight, and RiskMatch a PLUS!

  • Ability to daytime travel (60%)

This individual is responsible for maintaining a book of business by means of servicing and cross selling personal lines accounts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Build, expand, and solidify relationships with clients at all levels within the company and lead appropriate resources to address the client's needs – including risk identification and resolution of underwriting or policy issues. * Process daily mail, faxes, and e-mails, for assigned accounts. * Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts. * Enter all required data into AMS 360 and ImageRight to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts. * Gather required information for quoting a new account/new line of business. * Complete a personal risk management evaluation for client. * Underwrite, quote, and propose new business to client. * Issue policies in adherence of company underwriting guidelines and Brown & Brown policies. * Review new applications, renewal requests, and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company's carriers. * Maintain expiration records. * Renewal marketing, including quoting, of assigned personal lines risks. * Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, evidence of property insurance, auto ID cards, and cancellations as defined in the company procedures' manual. * Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence and all transactions. * Prepare agency billed billings and/or invoices on a timely basis. * Advice accounting of the appropriate posting of moneys received on assigned accounts. * Assist in the collection of premiums as defined in the procedures manual. * Develop and maintain working relationship with the various company underwriters. * Maintain up to date knowledge of the various carriers' rating plans and programs. * Maintain knowledge of the carrier's coverages. * Maintain favorable relationships with clients, producers, and employees. * Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of personal lines coverages and trends. * Meet with clients as needed. * Perform clerical functions * Perform any other duties as may be assigned Required Skills * Georgia Property & Casualty License * 4 years' + of personal lines insurance customer service experience, including in an independent agency setting * Knowledge of risks and coverage in all areas of personal lines * Proficient and Effective with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) * Familiar with AMS360 and ImageRight highly preferred * Independent, self-starter with an acute attention to detail * Professional appearance and customer service driven attitude * Ability to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions * Accuracy and speed are strong requirements * Organized and reliable * Prioritize and plan work activities * Capable of handling difficult customers * Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision * High School Diploma Required ; AA or Bachelor's Degree a Plus!
