Barstool Sports is looking for a Sales Pricing and Planning Manager to join their Finance team. This role will be responsible for the management of pricing and yield to achieve revenue goals and support key Sales decisions for the company. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to think strategically, understand digital advertising, pull insights, and provide creative solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Pricing and Rate Card Management
Oversee pricing by working cross-functionally with Marketing, Client Solutions, Ad Operations, Data and Production teams to learn about new offerings, forecasting and inventory
Maintain internal rate card, CRM pricing and metrics for all recurring media including podcasts, video programming, social (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, SnapChat, YouTube), ad served (Direct and PMP), Sirius, and newsletters
Create pricing for new franchises, ad products, branded content (custom videos, streams, creative services), live activations, sponsorships, and tent poles
Yield Management and plan approvals Review all media plans, provide necessary strategic adjustments to maximize revenue/sell through, ensure margin goals are maintained, approve all discounting, maintain floor pricing reference sheet, and confirm campaigns entered into the CRM match the approved plans Ensure campaigns are meeting deliverables at scale and provide preemptive offerings to clients when falling short, approve all makegoods due to execution issues, create proactive remnant packages and discount incentives based on inventory sell through
Sales Strategy Aid in the final stages of the Sales Upfront by maintaining the tracker, communicate product removals from the marketplace once hitting their sell-through goal, and continue to evaluate strategies and goals Determine parameters and spend thresholds for category exclusivity by quantifying the marketplace, current and potential partners and the scope of a franchise; maintain an exclusivity tracker for Sales visibility Develop scatter market analyses based on sales from the Upfront and overall revenue targets, establish strategies for key categories, create incentives for agencies and large partners, update vertical bundles Continually increase inventory value by assessing product quality, keep abreast of the competitive marketplace to implement new products and packaging, orchestrate data shares for case studies, evaluate vendors to elevate offerings
Qualifications & Requirements
3+ years of experience working in digital media preferred- Publisher, Ad Tech, or Agency experience in Operations and/or Analytics function
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
