Position Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Sales & Operations Planning. This position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, reporting, and recommending actions related to customer demand, inventory availability, and item level forecasting. This position will partner with other parts of the business utilizing reporting and analytics to help drive strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will own their area of responsibility and build strong working relationships utilizing excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills combined with their meaningful forecast and analytic experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Empower the business to make decisions through analytics and reporting.

  • Shared ownership of category/brand lane forecasts and results.

  • Integration into the engineering, marketing, operations, and sales meetings/processes to ensure an intricate level of product, strategy, and market knowledge.

  • Gather, analyze, report, and recommend actions related to customer demand, inventory availability and item-level forecasting.

  • Integrate customer-provided POS data and forecasts into the company's master forecast.

  • Analyze and report on gaps between the top-down and bottom-up forecasts.

  • Champion Sales or Operations process improvement projects

  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning meetings.

  • Track and enter non-recurring demand events such as promotions and closeouts. Maintain a comprehensive record of company's promotional/discount activities.

  • Analyze and report on forecasting accuracy and take direct actions to improve the company's forecasting performance.

  • Collaborate and work closely with the sales, inventory, engineering, and marketing teams to gain and share insights on expected demand, inventory, and process improvements.

  • Become an expert user in the company's forecasting and analytic software.

  • Promote a culture of safety, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

  • Work safely as well as identify and report any safety hazards immediately.

  • Maintain good housekeeping in personal area and all common areas.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Desirable degrees include:

  • Bachelor's in Finance

  • Bachelor's in Business

  • Bachelor's in Economics

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attentive to detail

  • Good organizational skills

Physical Demands:

  • Works in an office environment.

  • Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.

  • Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

  • Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
