Field Training

  • Partner with (Corporate) Commercial Training on all product training meetings: New Hire, Launch, Plan of Action (POA), Train the Trainer (TTT), National, etc.

  • Assess commercial field training needs and recommend solutions, as appropriate.

  • Partner with VP, Sales and Operational Teams on enhancement and supplemental commercial field training as required: CRM, Concur, etc.

  • Conduct or support Leadership Development and Selling Skills training as necessary.

  • Respond to requests from field leadership to work with commercial field team on desired development needs.

Communication and Support

  • Act as a communication liaison between the home office and commercial field teams.

  • Field communications (newsletter, feedback communications, oversee field advisory committee feedback)

  • Manage the overall strategic and operations calendar, organize staff meetings and business reviews.

  • Support VP, Sales and RSDs to ensure increased administrative compliance and productivity, and improved operational efficiency.

  • Support the recruiting, interviewing, hiring and training of the commercial field teams.


  • Partner with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system administrator on effectiveness tools and system enhancements for the commercial field teams.

  • Regularly evaluate commercial field team CRM activity to ensure effective and timely utilization of CRM system.


The Manager, Field Training and Communications must possess the knowledge and expertise to evaluate systems and personnel activities to identify and deliver training, and/or make recommendations for increased effectiveness.

Other critical success factors include:

  • Ability to develop, leverage, and work across multiple internal networks (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Training, Sales Operations, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, etc.).

  • Strong verbal, listening, written communications and facilitation skills required.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, strong organizational planning and project management skills are necessary, high results orientation required.

  • Possess the drive for self-development and an action-oriented work ethic.


  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Ten or more years of progressive pharmaceutical industry experience with an extensive background in both field management and corporate functions; training experience a plus

  • Product launch experience required

  • Travel as required; 10 15%

This is accomplished via managing the direct sales force, customer relationships and pricing strategy. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed. * Develops annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives. * Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices. * Responsible for all Sales Rep pricing compliance * Selection, Onboarding, Training of all new Sales team associates * Maintains relationships with top customers in each market * Conducts and documents Sales Rep ride-alongs * Strong CRM User -- conducts monthly pipeline reviews with sales reps to review activity and opportunity pipeline vs. targets * Establishes individual Sales Rep targets and holds them accountable for results. * Ensures communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives and meets organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with VP of marketing. * Manages sales rep expenses * Closely monitors dedicated Inside Sales associate performance via communication with Director of Inside Sales * Maintains excellent communication and coordination with Inside Sales and Customer Care centers * Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives. * Coordinate and complete special or other projects assigned as needed. * Contributes to overall USS Sales Organization improvement initiatives SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises all sales positions in the assigned territory within the Region. Required EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field and 5+ years of applicable experience. Additional Requirements: * Functional knowledge in these competencies: Business Acumen, Strategic Thinking, Results Driven, Leadership, Customer Focus, Technical Capacity, Communication Proficiency. * Computer knowledge. * Ability to supervise others and give direction. LANGUAGE SKILLS: * Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization. * Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: * Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to calculate rates, discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc. * Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, & ratios to practical situations REASONING ABILITY: * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
