Location/Division Specific Information

This role will be responsible for supporting the Laboratory Products Division America's Commercial team from data support and analytics perspective. The Laboratory Products Division manufactures equipment and consumables that are essential to science and the work our customers do every day. This role can be based remote or at a Thermo Fisher Scientific site.

How will you make an impact?

The commercial excellence analyst will partner closely with the commercial team as well as other functions to provide insight into business trends and support strategic planning that will drive decision making for the commercial organization.

What will you do?

  • Provide standard SalesForce.com reporting/analysis, business reviews, build reports/sales tools, maintain systems infrastructure, and ad hoc analytics for the VP, Director and Manager teams

  • Collaborate with LPD Sales leadership and account managers to identify and drive LPD selling opportunities at specific accounts/territories within NA

  • Innovate new analyses/tools to improve insight and increase Sales efficiency

  • Partner across LSG divisions to gain complete customer analytics and business plan

  • Prepare executive-level quarterly and monthly business reviews and present to internal and external customers

  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis for business units around customer, products and vendor dynamics

  • Identify, validate, and execute opportunities for sales performance improvements

  • Drive training and use of selling and data tools available to the field teams to better manage/grow their business

  • Assist with driving behavioral changes with the sales force to maximize selling results and overall productivity

  • Drive internal improvements and efficiencies within the Commercial Excellence team

  • Partner closely with the LPD Sales Operations team to align on reporting goals and responsibilities and shared analytics as required to grow the business

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a discipline requiring extensive analytical skills

Experience

  • Advanced Excel knowledge required

  • Experience with data systems ex. Cognos and SalesForce.com

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, or related field

  • 3+ years' experience in Life Sciences preferred

  • PowerBI experience preferred

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders to drive results

  • Must operate effectively in a complex matrix organization, having a track record of developing high levels of credibility and forging solid and positive professional relationships with peers and leadership

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • High level of energy; can bring a passion to excel. Able to energize and influence a wide spectrum of people, including senior level professionals

  • Drives a culture of accountability

  • Must be able to understand and analyze data, synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful and concise reports and actionable findings

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and respond to requests in timely manner in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment
