SUMMARY:

The Sales / Marketing Assistant is responsible for the management and development of XCEL athlete team and its ambassadors across all sports. In addition, the assistant will oversee the daily execution of XCEL's social media strategy and assist with events, tradeshows and merchandising opportunities.

  • Athlete and ambassador management - with regards to their interaction with XCEL

  • Identification and cultivation of new XCEL team riders, influencers and brand ambassadors

  • Develop & execute social media content to support marketing initiatives such as blog posts and social posts

  • Manage photographer and videographer communication and relationships: (ex. right to photos, payments and product trades)

  • Communicate with sales team regarding regional team and ambassadors

  • Coordinate team and ambassador seasonal product orders

  • Attend Trade Shows and travel to accounts when necessary

  • Assist in local merchandising efforts at local stores (fixtures, POP and window installs)

  • Work with internal team to maintain marketing budgets

  • Submitting invoices to accounting

  • Assist in sales meetings and webinar execution

  • Assist the Sales Manager as needed

This position will require domestic travel

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • Experience within Action sports or like industry

  • 2+ years' experience in digital / social marketing or team manager role

  • The ability to multitask and deliver on tight deadlines

  • Strong communication skills - will need to communicate across all levels of the organization along with the athletes and ambassadors

  • Proficient working knowledge of Adobe

  • Proficient working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Flexible schedule (will need to be available weekends and nights as needed)

This includes but is not limited to POP, packaging, social content, seasonal catalog, photoshoots and other marketing materials. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assisting in production of marketing creative for the brand * Taking key art assets and style guides and applying them to sales and marketing needs, brand storytelling across regions and channels * Upholding, contributing to, and elevating XCEL brand standards * Execute graphics efficiently and consistently * Setting up print ready files and communicating with printers * Participating in scheduled studio shoots * Image retouching for catalog and e-commerce needs * Helping the design department as needed with graphics for Wetsuits and Apparel REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION: * Degree in graphic design (or related field) OR relevant design experience * 1-2 years' experience * Proficient knowledge of Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, etc.) * Proficient working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets * Understanding of print production and digital media * Must be detail oriented and well organized * Ability to work well within a team environment * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills * Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Ability to take direction from marketing manager to execute design production PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: * Experience with Retouching a plus * Experience with Photography a plus * Please be sure to include either samples of work or a link to your online portfolio* Quiksilver, Inc.
