Reports To: Sr. Director of Sales

The Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable sales growth in our wholesale channel through management of top accounts, motivating the sales team and strategizing new business opportunities. This role will collaborate closely with many cross-functional teams, including planning, finance and merchandising. An expansive knowledge of the wholesale apparel industry, excitement to travel and attend trade shows as well as strong management skills are critical.

This position contributes to the overall success of vineyard vines. We are looking to hire a pro-active, analytical and enthusiastic sales person to join our team. This candidate should look for opportunities to improve upon existing practices and find new creative ways to drive sales.


  • Manage Wholesale Sales Team (inclusive of Senior Account Executives, Account Executives and Junior Account Executives) and oversee management of all specialty accounts

  • Mentor sales team to grow in their individual roles focus on analyzing current business, driving incremental sales, and creating financial plans for their territories

  • Work closely with sales team and wholesale planner on strategizing new business opportunities, target account list, and special products to drive sales in specialty stores.

  • Oversee select account list (currently two partner stores, military accounts and top accounts in the Mid Atlantic Region). Includes: line review, order management, pitching custom product, aligning with marketing initiatives and travel to stores as needed.

  • Attend all trade shows with AEs and Jr. AEs and research new trade shows for the brand. Work directly with Sr. Visual Merchandiser to evolve booth layouts.

  • Partner with wholesale operations team to streamline functionality of sales team increase focus on active selling, account support, travel and business development


  • 2+ years of proven work experience in a Sales Manager role

  • Experience managing a high performance sales team (minimum 2 direct reports)

  • An ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics

  • Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiating skills

  • Strong communication and management skills

  • Ability to be proactive and plan accordingly

  • Travel required 50% of the time

  • Knowledge of Blue Cherry and NuOrder is a plus

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
