RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Global Director of Sales for TPU, the ideal candidate will perform commercial activities towards the achievement of established sales goals. Responsible for business development, achievement of sales and profit goals, as well as successful execution of the revenue growth strategy for the TPU business in North and South America.
1.Leads, develops, and will continue to expand sales team within the Americas to achieve growth goals.
2.Responsible for lead generation, qualification and account management.
3.Business development, price quotes, contract management / negotiations, proposals etc. Prepares quotations and proposals; follow up and negotiates terms; close transactions.
4.Accountable to sales, margin, price and department expense budgets.
5.Works with other commercial leaders within Gates to identify synergy opportunities and alignment of activities with Americas region.
6.Engages in extensive customer contact to conduct sales and service activities; develop strong customer relationships; introduces new products, identifies product applications, and keeps accounts informed of product developments.
7.Responsible for developing sales strategies, commercial orientation, and channel management.
8.Works closely with operations and engineering for Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning activities.

  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes

  • Fundamental understanding of automation system design and motion control as applied to conveyor, assembly, packaging, food processing, medical equipment, automotive industries

  • Expert level knowledge of sales

Description of Job The Work Unit: The Administrative Services Program (ASP) exists to provide a wide spectrum of services and support to the management and staff of the Air Pollution Control Division (APCD). The ASP consists of the Fiscal Services Unit, the Business Services Unit, and the Records Management Unit. The services include, but are not limited to legislative, policy development, accounting, contract management, budgeting, grants/funds management, revenue billing/invoicing, financial reporting, time and effort reporting, supplies/equipment/services procurement, personnel administration, office management (e.g., space allocation, telephone and fax services, office supplies), human resources, coordination of information technology services (both hardware and software) with OIT, and all processes which control the creation, maintenance, security, storage, retrieval, timely destruction and use of official APCD records, as well as responding to Colorado Open Records Act requests. What You'll Be Doing: Business Process and Information Technology Oversight * Manages the division's efforts to continuously improve its use of information technology. Duties include: prioritizing division and program projects with leadership team; defines high level IT project requirements; develops project scope of work; coordinates the creation of task order/purchase order and/or contracts for consultant assistance; negotiates project cost estimates; oversees application development; manages consultant work/budget; approves invoices; manages project deliverables; develops/manages IT division-wide operating budgets; determines the need for new technical policies, hardware, software, and application solutions in collaboration with strategic goals; determines and justifies purchases of new hardware/software; initiates procurement process, assists in the implementation of new systems, and monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of new systems/solutions. * Coordinates with OIT to ensure OIT meets service level commitments to the APCD, including the management and successful completion of IT projects implemented by OIT staff or department level initiatives, responsiveness of OIT desktop staff to APCD staff needs, and ensures appropriate backups, server and network support. Applications and Data Management Oversight * Provides oversight and evaluation of processes used and work produced for programmatic activities; determines data management needs; approves data management procedures, and implements new processes to support program goals. * Responsible for the management of the Data Management workgroup, which supports the division's efforts to utilize information for managing the division's federal and state environmental databases. * Serves as the primary point of contact for the development and implementation of new databases and systems for the APCD. Business Services Unit Management and Division Process Improvement * Responsible for the day-to-day management and direction of the Business Services Unit including supervision of a team of 3 and processes including: establishing work schedules, assigning duties, establishing and managing projects, establishing and managing division-wide IT budget; overseeing work products, and monitoring work flow output. Determines staffing and resource requirements needed to meet established strategic and internal goals. Approves leave, conducts performance planning and reviews, defines metrics to measure staff performance, administers progressive discipline including the resolution of grievances, administers corrective actions, and provides documentation to support recommendation of disciplinary action, hiring, promotions and all other duties related to direct supervision. * Participates in division/ department process improvement activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and evaluates IT solutions to support new process change.
