Overview

The Sales Manager's primary responsibility is to drive memberships in order to meet sales goals. Additional responsibilities include assisting with customer service, helping prospective members and existing club members with concerns regarding the club and starting new corporate accounts.

Create the TSI Environment

Responsibilities include:

  • Modeling and promoting the Clubhouse Rules.

  • Adhering to all TSI policies and procedures including, but not limited to timeliness, codes of conduct, dress and timekeeping.

  • Partnering with club team to ensure high levels of customer service and a consistently clean club.

Build a High Performing Team

Actively facilitates self and team member development; constantly seeking new ways to build skills and competency; elevates the brand experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating an environment where employees thrive and look forward to coming to work.

  • Sourcing, recruiting and onboarding qualified team members.

  • Delivering relevant and effective coaching, training, feedback and performance management directly to team members.

  • Performing all basic system transactions pertaining to billing and contracts.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with current members on a name to name basis.

  • Notifying club mgmt team of any member complaints or grievances and assisting in appropriate response.

  • Determining prospect's goals and motivation through a thorough Needs Analysis.

  • Being knowledgeable of all products and programs and building value in TSI's services.

  • Being responsive to member feedback and complaints and working towards timely resolution.

Achieve Measurable Results

Meets and exceeds company goals and metrics surrounding employees and members; never satisfied with the status quo.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hitting all key metrics in sales, revenue, retention and cost management.

  • Reviewing and analyzing club profit and loss statements and other financial reports daily to ensure club is on track to meet sales and cost goals.

  • Setting daily, weekly and monthly sales, revenue and retention goals (including fitness) and monitor club's performance towards goals.

  • Consistently looking for opportunities to gain new members and elevate service levels.

  • Developing relations with the community and local small businesses by involving club in community events.

  • Actively build a network of contacts through prospecting and referrals.

  • Attending sales and training meetings.

  • Driving retention by partnering with fitness team to introduce fitness services at point of sale.

  • Reaching and surpassing monthly sales projections.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • College degree in business, sales & marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Prior sales experience preferred.

  • Excellent customer services skills, outgoing, motivational and friendly.

  • Ability to deal with pressure in meeting sales quota.

  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to build relationships with members.

  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner.

  • Ability to multi-task and learn quickly.

Scheduling Requirements:

Due to the nature of the business, Town Sports has specific scheduling guidelines for this position.

  • Team Members are required to work 3 out of the last 4 days of the month, with the last day of the month being mandatory.

  • TSI does not authorize vacation time in the months of January or September.

  • This position does not have a set schedule month-to-month and is subject to changes based on the needs of the business.

What you'll do: * Understand client needs via regular communication with the Account Manager(s). * Manage all landscape specialty services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment and subcontractors required to produce quality work. * Inspect properties prior to scheduled services and prepare specific action plans for service. * After installation and services, monitor all aspects of the landscape and identify any problems. * As necessary, perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands. * Implement and enforce Brightview policies and procedures related to proper upkeep and maintenance, storage, use, and training required for branch equipment. * Work with the Branch Manager to identify staffing needs, hire new crew employees, and prepare daily crew schedules. * Ensure proper paperwork is completed for all personnel changes and hires. * Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, review, and develop growth plans for employees. * Hands-on training and support of crew personnel, including proper operation of equipment, horticultural techniques, safety, and quality standards. * Implement methods to improve safe workplace practices and monitor safety records. * Maintain and manage all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases and service schedules. * Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries. * Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines. * Assist the Branch Manager in the performance of specialty service sales tasks as required. Skills we're seeking: * 2 or 4 year degree in a business related field or equivalent experience required. * Minimum of 3 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within an organization, the landscaping industry or local marketplace. * Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses and professional certifications for relevant service lines.
