You will support the business development and grow the Scientific Vacuum product portfolio within the U.S. focused on High Vacuum Key Accounts. Direct contact and oversight of designated Sales Team and partners. Represent Leybold, products, and services to potential and current customers with integrity. Provide us with new customers and expand the business opportunities with existing customers. Work with and support other departments within the company in the achievement of sales plans, product forecasting, increasing business, and maintaining prudent operating budgets. Be the technical authority and leader on Scientific Vacuum products in North America and interact with the SV Vacuum Management team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sale of ALL company products in an assigned account base within a geographic region focusing on High and Ultra High Vacuum in Analytics, R&D, Industrial and Coating markets.

  • Responsible for overall budget and profitability for Account Managers, Agents, Reps, and Distributors who hold the customer budgets. Set both short-term (12 months) and long-term (3 years) goals.

  • Management responsibility for a designated sales team. Includes sales coaching, problem resolution, and achievement of annual sales revenue targets.

  • Establish and implement new territory sales strategies and goals as defined by the Business Line Managers for a defined Region and assigned accounts.

  • Increase sales growth in new and expanded opportunities for Leybold products and services. (This will be focused but not exclusively in the Advanced market applications).

  • With U.S. leadership implement National Sales strategies to grow high vacuum sales revenue and profitability.

  • Identify and capture new and expanded opportunities for Leybold products and services. Maintain relationships with important customers.

  • Understand the markets and competitors to ensure service sales channels are successful and management has the required inputs to the strategic planning processes.

  • Deploy new product concepts based on market-driven opportunities.

  • Provide technical support, applications, and sales support to customers such as technical support, product selection, quotations, terms & conditions, contract administration.

  • Create customer proposals for standard and custom systems working in close coordination with systems engineering in specifying equipment, and solutions and providing support to Sales / Marketing in the preparation of customer quotes.

  • Achieve customer satisfaction levels on vacuum Projects and prompt complaint resolution by interaction with other departments.

  • Attend trade shows, seminars, and training sessions to keep informed of trends affecting customers, and keep abreast of competitive products, services, and value-added activities.

  • Participate in Vacuum Academy educational course/training.

  • Complete all assignments (i.e. Monthly Reports, Forecasts, Expense Reports).

  • Manage the CRM to ensure that sales information is updated, and the pipeline and lead information entered timely and accurate.

  • Maintain company property (computer, office equipment, customer demo/loaner products, consignment stock) that is in your control, and at your customer site

You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Your work will be frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus.

You will travel frequently, 25-40%, often overnight or multiple days.

You will be remote after training.

Experience

Education level

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required

Relevant Previous experience

  • At least 8 years of technical experience.
