Sales Manager

Job Summary Primarily responsible to drive results from your team through consistent field sales time, pipeline management, a consistent routine for success around activity, coaching, training, and provide leadership to overachieve sales targets and branch growth. This includes, overseeing and leading the identification of business opportunities, building and fostering client relationships, and a total team selling effort to gain market share. Ideal Candidate Has a passion for sales leadership, and a strong ability to identify and develop talent.. Is competitive, has high energy, hardworking, a master communicator who exudes optimism. Previous successful outside sales and sales management experience, as well as a servant based mentality is ideal. Strong knowledge of Pre-Engineered and Engineered Fire Suppression, Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler systems and familiar with industry pricing strategies. Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Development (75%) * Lead sales skills development & product training. * Assist with the recruitment, hiring, training and development of new branch sales associates. * Assist in leading and training of all sales related activities. o Sales process o Activity Management o Sales quoting and presentations o Timely follow-up, time management and prioritization o Top 10 services overview o Goal setting o Individual Development Plans * Work with sales team to better develop sales strategies and tactics. * Leads the way with community networking and involvement. * Sales Manager will spend the majority of his/her time in the field, with sales team members, on appointments observing sales associate effectiveness, inside the sales process a minimum of 3 days per week. Customer Relationship, Retention and Growth (15%) * Ensure high customer retention, through quarterly account reviews, with branch Key Accounts. * Responsible for helping maintain critical relationships, with branches' top 50 customers. * Helps set up activities, such as lunch and learns, fire training, customer appreciation days, etc. * Aid in the overall business development in assigned territories. * Works with customers to correct any problems they may have with Koorsen service offerings. * Schedule periodic customer site visits, in order to help maintain long lasting relationships. * Oversee, review, and negotiate the process of existing, and expiring KAP's, PO's and service contracts. * Maintain awareness of competitive threats in the market, ensuring that quotes are competitive and reasonable. * Communicate price increases, when necessary, in a professional manner. Internal and External Customer Service (10%) * Follow up with customers, regarding their level of satisfaction, during and after, completion of service. * Acts as a liaison between Customer and Koorsen, working together to resolve any issues. * Educate customer, with regard to Koorsen products and services, as well as general life safety. * Ensure that customers, within the assigned territory, are satisfied with Koorsen products & services * Provide support to other branch administrative and technical staff, as needed to support all accounts. * Provide branch collections support, when needed, within the assigned territory. General (Always) * Other duties as assigned by manager(s). * Follow Koorsen policies and procedures. * Ensure timely and professional communication with coworkers, customers and vendors. * Always represent Koorsen in a professional manner. Education and Experience Requirements Required: * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Minimum 3 years' sales experience. * Minimum 3 years' experience leading a sales team. * Must meet safe driving policy criteria to be an active company vehicle driver. Preferred, but not required: * One to three years' experience in the Fire Protection Industry with working knowledge of Fire Systems and the pricing thereof. * Bachelor's degree, in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills Requirements Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. * Customer oriented interpersonal skills. * Must be able to motivate, train, and manage various sales people across different selling platforms. * Detail oriented and strong organizational skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication and telephone skills. * Must possess strong computer skills and have the ability to effectively use Internet and Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. * Must have the ability to complete presentations, in front of large customer groups, in a manner that displays clarity, confidence, charisma and professionalism and presents Koorsen product & service offerings in the best light possible. * Must have the ability to persuade and close sales. * Must have the ability to handle a variety of situations encountered, during sales process, and the discipline to work with limited supervision, while providing superior customer service. * Must be able to exercise effective time management skills (prioritize, work on a timeline). * Must be able to understand and interpret NFPA codes and standards as needed. * Active Driver's License, in good standing required. * The ability to pass a background check.
