Job Summary
If you have previous experience in sales and are looking for a new position that will allow you to blend those skills with managerial duties, then we are offering you the position that you've been searching for. We are looking for a sales manager to help coordinate the efforts of our sales team in order to bring on new clients to contribute to the growth of our business. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing the support needed to ensure the success of our salespeople, whether through generating leads, providing background information, or assisting in the close of a transaction. You will also be able to work closely with our management team in monitoring our sales efforts.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and support to our sales team members, along with the education and example needed in order to help guarantee their success.
  • Generate sales leads by working closely with our marketing and advertising department and presenting information on our company at trade shows and conventions.
  • Work with our management team as well as our salespeople in analyzing sales performance to develop ambitious yet attainable sales goals for the current fiscal year.
  • Coordinate the distribution of leads to the members of our sales team according to each salesperson's designated geographic area, and then follow up on those leads to help ensure that they result in customer conversion.
  • Educate yourself on our entire portfolio of products so as to become a resource of information for both our staff and our customers.
  • Travel with salespeople when necessary to meet with current and prospective clients to help resolve concerns.
  • Suggest product improvements to our research and development departments based upon client feedback.
  • Present quarterly reports to our management team detailing the sales team's progression towards annual goals.
Job Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field
  • 5 years of experience in technical sales
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as accounting and analytic programs
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience or 8 years of experience in technical sales
  • Prior experience in planning and/or data modeling

This position is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned Region. He/She is responsible for staffing and directing a sales team as well as providing leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth, in line with company vision and values.</p><p>This is a home office-based position with ability to report to company’s offices for meetings. Weekly travel throughout assigned territory is required.</p><p><br></p><ul> <li>Human Resources – recruiting, testing and hiring representatives.</li> <li>Ensuring the regions is staffed at all times and a bench of sales talent is developed for each territory.</li> <li>Training and development of sales staff in the region, to include but not be limited to:</li> <li>Conducting weekly One on One debriefs with all Sales Reps to build/maintain communication as well as ensure training and development needs are met as well as provide insight for possible improvement with sales performances.</li> <li>Conduct 2-3 field ride alongs per week with Sales Rep to coach them with improving their sales skills.</li> <li>Assist Sales Representatives with the preparation of their proposals and presentations.</li> <li>Develop new corrective action plans for each Sales Rep while utilizing directive and supportive coaching styles.</li> <li>Conduct Weekly Sales and Training Meetings focused on skill development and improving performance.</li> <li>Utilize Sales KPIs as coaching tools to monitor Sales Reps activity level as well as ensure that all Sales Reps meet or exceed all standards for calls, appointments, proposals and debriefs each week.</li> <li>Annually develop a Regional Sales and Marketing plan that supports the Corporate Plan and integrates campaigns, lead generation activities and target account management.</li> <li>Develop and support Sales Representatives Quarterly Sales Action Plans and redirect activities to ensure performance. * Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets.</li> <li>Incorporates the principles of Strategic Selling.</li> <li>Ensures 100% identification of target prospects in the market.</li> <li>Develop, with support from Corporate Marketing, seeding campaigns to position our company and increase penetration into all target accounts and segments.</li> <li>Ensure local prospects are added and updated within the system ager each Phone Block.</li> <li>Monitor the quality of Phone Blocks conducted by the Sales Reps.</li> <li>Develop business plans and sales strategies in support of call campaigns that ensure company sales targets and profitability are met.</li> <li>Monitor and control administrative functions.</li> <li>Control and maintain an ample supply of sales tools used in presentations.</li> <li>Control selling expenses to meet budget guidelines.</li> <li>Assist BP of Sales and Marketing in development of Baseline Sales Targets.</li> <li>Ensure that all incentives and compensation plans are driving performances.</li> <li>Maintain an accurate and complete file on each main competitor in the Regions (National, Regional and Local)</li> <li>Submit an accurate Monthly New Business Forecast using Regional Sales Manager Status Report and report on execution of sales and marketing plan.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>5+ years of experience in managing and directing a sales team.</li> <li>Must have experience in all aspects of Customer Relationship Management.</li> <li>Strong understanding of customer/market dynamics and requirements.</li> <li>Willingness to travel and work on a national team of professionals.</li> <li>Strong leadership abilities to drive the sales team to meet company objects.</li> <li>Tolerate sitting and driving a motor vehicle for extended hours each day.</li> <li>Must be willing to attend all company required training programs.</li> <li>Proven and verifiable track record of cold calling and face to face sales in the field.</li> <li>Previous negotiation and presentation skills.</li> <li>Read, write and comprehend pesticide labels and training materials printed in English.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience writing estimates / proposals.</li> <li>Valid driver’s license/clean driving record and reliable vehicle.</li> <li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn company’s product and services.</li> <li>Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Excellent organization and time management skills.</li> <li>Solid computer skills.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul> <li>Excellent base salary plus upto 32% bonus potential.</li> <li>Car Allowance plus mileage reimbursement.</li> <li>Company provided cell phone and laptop.</li> <li>Medical, Dental, and Vision,</li> <li>Employer-matched 401(k) and profit-sharing plan available after eligibility period.</li> <li>Short and long-term disability &amp; Life Insurance offered.</li> <li>Paid vacation, holidays, and PTO days available after eligibility period.</li> </ul> DBD Staffing Columbus OH
