JOB SUMMARY:

The primary objective for this role is to cultivate new account opportunities. This position is accountable for meeting and exceeding individual KPI's and business objectives including, but not limited to the following:

  • Addition of new customer accounts

  • Achievement of monthly and yearly revenue goals

  • Achievement of monthly and yearly gross profit goals

  • Customer retention and YOY organic growth of associate's book of business

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts business with the highest level of integrity and professionalism in the best interest of, and consistent with, Company values.

  • Develops and executes prospecting strategies that lead to new business opportunities.

  • Enters, maintains and regularly updates sales activities and customer information using CRM.

  • Provides exceptional customer service and support by frequently and proactively reaching out to customers to establish rapport, deepen working relationships, and win revenue-generating opportunities.

  • Develops a deep and applicable understanding of the customer's business (existing and potential) in order to identify growth opportunities and creative solutions..

  • Works collaboratively, in a positive and professional manner, with support team(s) to develop customer solutions and ensure delivery of exceptional customer service, including adherence to processes and proactive, ongoing communication.

  • Prepares scheduled sales plans and forecasts; monitors and tracks sales plan to ensure goals are met and exceeded.

  • Stays current with service solutions, industry and market conditions and trends, and monitors competitive activity.

  • Travels as needed to support business development and growth (approximately 25-40%).

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • At least 2 years of previous 3PL / freight brokerage sales required

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Experience using transportation management software such as McLeod preferred

  • Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce or One-Page preferred

Through effectively cultivated business relationships, the role leverages and proposes the products and services offered by CUNA Mutual Group to support and meet the business needs of the largest and most strategic credit union customers. Job Responsibilities: * Serve as the key point of contact with assigned credit unions, continually enhancing and building upon overall business relationship with assigned credit unions as measured through new sales, retention, account growth, and increased product penetration, in addition to non-financial metrics * Gather detailed information about accounts, analyze and prioritize information resulting in the development of sales strategies that ensure profit and growth objectives are achieved within assigned accounts * Lead a cross-discipline sales account team, utilize consultative selling techniques, and leverage knowledge of all CUNA Mutual Group products, to propose products and services that support the strategic plan of the assigned credit union; strive for profitable growth for CUNA Mutual Group in the process * Lead cross-discipline sales account teams to establish, implement, and monitor a service level agreement with assigned credit union customers; consistently deliver to the service level * Manage performance to sales plan and territory plans using metrics and scorecards to measure productivity, sales discipline, quality and achievement of financial results; based on results, develop and implement specific action plans to increase profitability by development of growth, retention and rehabilitation plans and termination of activity where warranted * Develop and deliver proposals; forecast and report on sales activity * Maintain ongoing, timely knowledge and awareness of activities and challenges/opportunities within assigned credit unions; ensure use of the established sales management system on an ongoing basis * Effectively utilize and incorporate information gleaned from loss of business in future work with same as well as other accounts * Develop a position of influence in the marketplace; analyze competitive position and achieve targeted industry market share * Develop and maintain an understanding of diverse financial services markets, with capability to position and sell products of CUNA Mutual Group in new markets * Continue to develop sales, business, and leadership competencies.
