Division Overview

Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

This position manages the HPS Electric Utility business through end user accounts & authorized channel partners in the Houston Area and East Texas Public Power marketplace. The Territory Manager is responsible for knowledge of the HPS Products, planning & tracking the opportunities within the area, and growing the HPS relationship/position with the Investor Owned Utilities, Public Power Utilities and distributors in this geography.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of functional knowledge of the position by understanding the drivers of the HPS organization, Business Units and products, as well as the management of relationships within all levels of the customer base

  • Meet/exceed overall sales quota while driving Hubbell Power Systems market share growth

  • Effectively manage channel partner relationships

  • Assist Regional VP sales in territory planning/forecasting and the development of a strategic growth strategy

  • Manage key end user accounts through consistent exposure for HPS and an understanding of the key drivers to their business and spending

  • Maximize product approvals for all product lines

  • Develop and execute a short-term and long-term plan for overall market share growth

  • Analyze market to identify new business opportunities

  • Drive end user preference for Hubbell products at key customers: CenterPoint Energy and East Texas Public Power accounts

  • Willing to travel extensively in the Houston Area and East Texas

Skills and Experience

Above average presentation skills, strong written and oral English skills and 5-10 years of Utility industry experience.

Strength in effective communication by projecting self-confidence, authority, and enthusiasm, and the ability to make continuous use of technology to improve sales performance

Strength in prioritization of tasks in order to devote the appropriate time to strategic areas of importance

Must be a strong manager with a vision for the future of the territory and growth, capable of managing regular sales activity, and be effective working with internal departments (BU management/personnel, pricing group management/personnel, customer service management/personnel) to drive results.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Business

This person works side-by-side with the General Manager to establish effective plans to maintain and increase store performance through traffic management best practices. This manager is responsible for communicating and working with the management team and sales associates to ensure compliance with the Traffic Management Playbook. Additionally, this position works laterally with the Regional Director of Traffic Management. Duties and Responsibilities: * Ensure the Traffic Management Playbook is read and understood by every store associate, in conjunction with communicating updates and changes to the store team * Drives standardization (predictable, repeatable and sustainable) of traffic management processes at the store level * Effectively utilize and train the eLead CRM to all store employees * Ensure metrics for each up type are understood and that goals are achieved by individual associates * Drive overall dealership appointments, in relation to set, shown and sold for all up types * Train, develop, coach and motivate team members in all departments to achieve Sonic metrics for walk-in, phone and internet * Hold weekly Internet/BDC meetings specifically focused on internet and phone performance * Track and communicate internet and phone performance via tracking document in the traffic management playbook so associates know where they are to their goals (minimum weekly) * Ensure associates are following the Sonic workflows to compliance, applicable to their role * Utilize Sonic core reports to analyze performance and adjust focus/processes accordingly * Implement creative strategies and processes with the management team to drive sales, in relation to traffic opportunities * Attend morning Make-A-Deal meetings and all store management and team meetings with preparedness to communicate current Traffic Management highlights and opportunities * Function in a manager capacity, which included quoting and penciling deals for internet/BDC agents and supporting the sales floor when needed * Coach associates on phone call handling utilizing the phone scoring guide in the traffic management playbook * Ensure phone calls are being listened to and logged per Playbook requirements * Observe and manage effective walk-in traffic processes with the management team, whether an open floor or up-system * Ensure all walk-in traffic is being logged, with complete visit and follow-up information * Monitor daily usage of Desklog by all associates and ensure it meets Playbook standards of effectiveness Qualifications: * Must have management experience * Must have internet vehicle-sales experience * Must have flexible availability, including weekends * Must have computer skills including: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and any dealership specific CRM * Must have the ability to work in call center environment * Must have the ability to organize and handle multiple tasks with flexibility * Must be able to grow and develop a team * Must be highly motivated and creative Sonic Automotive, Inc.
