The purpose of the Sales Manager position is to assist the Vice President of Sales in ensuring that Greenleaf's sales plans are successfully executed, and the company's growth objectives are achieved. This will be done by maintaining oversight over Greenleaf's sales team and processes, utilizing the company's systems and communication channels to execute sales initiatives that drive growth in targeted areas. In addition, the Sales Manager will identify and implement process improvements as needed to ensure that sales goals are met in the most efficient way possible. A key function for this role is to oversee sales operations, leading the Inside and Outside Sales Teams to maintain and grow Greenleaf's business.

Responsibilities:
Assist with recruiting, hiring and training of new team members
Identify the need for product and sales training and lead the design/execution of the training, both in office and in the field
Coach team members on a consistent basis to ensure that salespeople are tracking towards their goals, in addition to providing coaching towards their professional development in monthly, quarterly and annual reviews
Track and oversee the account penetration and growth opportunities in each sales territory; ensure that qualified opportunities are being pursued to a successful; provide training/coaching as needed close
Oversee the successful execution of sales initiatives to generate business in targeted product classes and product lines
Support Greenleaf's profitability targets using a combination of analytics and sales abilities
Participate in internal meetings both one-on-one and with other managers, and external meetings when presenting product, pricing, and service proposals to customers, as needed
Work closely with the Inside and Outside Sales Teams to ensure that communication and sales efforts are coordinated seamlessly. This includes assisting in the management and upkeep of the CRM
Manage and oversee Greenleaf's sales pipeline
Build relationships with department supervisors and managers to shape and guide the implementation of strategic goals across the company
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years supervisory or management experience in a sales-related role preferred
Minimum of 3 years restaurant and/or food industry experience preferred
Experience managing customer relationships with positive outcomes
Experience aligning staffing strengths with department goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to compose business documents (letters, emails, employee reviews) using appropriate business writing format and proper grammar.
Valid California Drivers License and a clean driving record
Skills:
Ability to make effective sales presentations to customers at a variety of levels: Chefs, Managers and Business Owners
Problem solving; must be able to overcome challenging situations by finding the win-win solution
Project management; manage longer-term projects with targeted objectives, milestones and goals
Strong negotiation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency/competence in various business applications (MS Excel, Outlook, Word, CRM)
