The Sales Manager 2 Acquire manages and supervises direct sales hunter representatives who sell company products to new customers within the Global Business Solutions vertical and/or territory.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and supervises assigned sales hunter account representatives responsible for generating sales for delivery of solutions that meet a wide variety of new customer needs for AT&T products/services/systems/solutions.

  • Formulates sales plan for teams and provides tactical input to leadership.

  • Provides input for sales strategies for vertical and/or territory.

  • Collaborates in planning sales strategy and training sales team in implementing plans. Provides expertise and consultation to assist with difficult customer negotiations with prospective customers.

  • Spends a majority of the time in the field.

  • Requires extensive knowledge of engineering and complex aspects of Company products and services.

  • Manages the work efforts of individual contributor direct reports and influences the hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.

  • Responsible for coaching and developing direct report subordinates.

Education:

Bachelors degree is not required but a degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience:
8 to 10 years direct work experience and one year leadership

Job Description: 3M is seeking a Strategic Account Director for the Health Care Business's Medical Solutions Division, Medical Markets Center. Job Summary: The purpose of this role is to develop and implement business and category specific strategies to meet objectives for assigned strategic accounts. The role is accountable for working directly with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and key health systems and purchasing coalitions affiliated with these entities. Leading internal stakeholder engagement and collaboration is a principal key to success in this role. Coordination of all aspects of direct customer interaction is critical, including working with key division sponsors, regional and national sales leadership, and division sales team members to ensure optimization of all contracted business growth opportunities. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Establish, advance and maintain relationships with executive level decision makers within assigned strategic accounts * Disseminate critical customer, competitor and market information to all company constituents; the marketplace is undergoing unprecedented change and a suitable candidate must be able to rapidly lead and navigate change processes within customers and with 3M. * Develop strategies and manage RFI/RFP processes to meet business objectives within assigned strategic accounts * Work with division Marketing teams to design, communicate and deliver customized value added programs to assigned strategic accounts * Educate and negotiate internally to ensure that deliverables to assigned strategic accounts are consistent with the customer and 3M needs * Act as main point of contact on escalated issue resolution within assigned strategic accounts * Maximize sales and profitability within key GPO shareholder health systems and purchasing coalitions through strategic use of contracts * Build, maintain and routinely update the strategic account business plan * Skilled in business communications, sales presentation development and delivery, and influencing without formal authority * Prepare and conduct Executive Business Reviews with assigned strategic accounts * Prepare executive-level presentations and present strategic and tactical recommendations to key internal stakeholders to obtain feedback, build alignment and drive implementation * Conduct problem solving with business leaders, work across organizational matrix, and employ influencing skills to improve quality of strategic thinking and enhance/accelerate impact of key strategies/initiatives * Work closely with product marketing to communicate clinical support and economic messages of importance to GPOs and their key members * Attend related conventions, trade shows and seminars in order to represent 3M Healthcare * Master and maintain vast knowledge of customer's business, competition and the latest industry news and trends Basic Qualifications: * Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution * Minimum eight (8) years outside sales experience in a healthcare-related business in a private, public, government or military environment * Minimum five (5) combined years of key account or national account leadership experience with Group Policy Objects (GPO) and/or large Integrated Delivery Networks (IDN) Preferred Qualifications: * Business management skills including data analysis, sales forecasting, P&L management and strategic planning * Skilled in contract terms and conditions understanding, negotiation and implementation * Proven negotiating skills; can negotiate skillfully in a tough situation with both internal and external stakeholders * Deep knowledge of current healthcare industry trends and industry challenges * Successful track record of complex project management during conversions, RFP processes, and implementation of unique strategic account programs * Display well-rounded understanding of 3M Healthcare products and solutions * Proven ability and experience working with, and through, cross functional teams * Proven ability to present materials to senior/executive level persons * Proficient in financial analysis and presentation development * Multiple channel and customer experience preferred Location: Remote Based – with proximity to a major airport Travel: May include up to 50% domestic travel Relocation: Is not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
