BNSF Logistics Sales Management Training Program
December 2019 College Graduates - Position starts January 2020
As a Sales Management Trainee (SMT), you are starting the foundation of your career path with BNSF Logistics, one of the fastest growing third-party logistics companies in North America.
The primary focus of the SMT program is to create top sales producers and leaders within our organization. You will develop valuable marketing and sales strategies that are crucial to your success, as well as the success of our company. Your learning will be facilitated by an award-winning Learning & Development team, and you will be assigned an experienced mentor to help guide your hands-on learning.
The SMT program helps you develop the interpersonal skills that are vital to building lasting relationships with customers. The first phase of your training experience (three months) will take place in our Springdale, AR office. The focus will be on product knowledge, customer service, leadership, operational management, and sales skills. During your first three months you will:
Weeks 1-6: Intensive training on what you need to know about our products, services, processes, systems and networking with all the key people in all departments.
Weeks 7-8: Travel to the office you are relocating to for operations and hands on sales experience. While visiting you will connect with your future leader, find an apartment and do team building with your new team.
Weeks 9-12: You will be expected to strengthen your pace in lead generation and network sales calls to build your book of business to take with you when you move. There will also be high level networking, special guest speakers, leadership building and other events.
After completing the three month training phase, you will be ready for the next step in your career, where you will be placed in one of our 23 domestic locations to continue your learning experience.

The goal of this program is to advance you within the Network Domestic sales organization.
Learn the ins and outs of how real life 3PL sales and operations work
Internal networking with experts in every department of the organization
Learn valuable sales skills and gain industry knowledge through hands on logistics training and classroom curriculum
Develop and maintain a concrete customer base through hard work, superior product knowledge, and excellent customer service
Develop friendship and solid working relationships with fellow SMTs
Have fun, work hard, and gain the knowledge needed to further your career at nearly any location within our organization
What we are looking for:
Graduating college seniors with a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Logistics, Marketing, or Business-related field
Self-drive, Grit, Tenacity
Strong presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong telephone presence
Enthusiastic and self-motivated with a competitive drive
Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, time-sensitive environment
Desire for continuous learning
We will be accepting up to 10 graduates (nationwide) to this program each semester.
