Job Title: Sales Professional (Full Time/Part Time)

Purpose and Scope

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Retail Team as a Sales Professional. The Sales Professional will act as a leader, and will be responsible for contributing to the future development of the brand, with a passionate and driven attitude. They will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, merchandise and store appearance, as well as meeting and exceeding established sales goals. Other duties include assisting with customer transactions, maintaining and achieving high operational standards, exceeding merchandising goals, developing a clientele base, as well as assisting and motivating staff.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learning, referencing and applying product knowledge information to recommend, select, and obtain merchandise based on customers' needs.

  • Establishing, meeting, and exceeding sales and performance goals, as well as setting and achieving personal sales goals.

  • Building lasting relationships with customers and expanding the client book.

  • Responsible for client development beyond the initial transaction; utilizing phone, e-mail & written follow-up contact.

  • Maintaining a positive, energetic, and upscale atmosphere reflective of the John Varvatos brand.

  • Assist in motivating staff and align daily activities to achieve business goals.

  • Exceeding expectations in identifying store trends and communicating these trends to the buyer.

  • Connecting with customers and understanding their needs, such as documenting and communicating customer requests.

  • Proactively seeking opportunities to up sell and add-on additional merchandise, while enhancing the customer's experience, not overwhelming them

  • Monitor sales floor and zone coverage to drive sales and maintain customer focus.

  • Display creative problem solving abilities in accommodating client needs (returns, damaged merchandise, etc.).

  • Assist with stocking merchandise on shelves, as well as assisting with pricing merchandise and maintaining a clean and organized appearance of the store.

  • Assist with and/or ensure proper training and product knowledge for staff.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years as a luxury sales professional.

  • Tailored clothing experience preferred.

Education and Training:

  • Associate's Degree required.

  • Bachelor's Degree a plus.

  • Fluency or conversational level in a foreign language a plus.

Job Title: Madison Stock Associate (Full Time/Part Time)

Purpose and Scope

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Retail team. The PT Stock Associate will be responsible for inventory management, including inventory tracking and replenishment. Other duties include overseeing the stock room staff, maintaining the organization of the inventory, and loss prevention.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements plans to optimize inventory cost and customer service goals at the retail level

  • Responsible for forecasting needs and resolving accuracy discrepancies.

  • Works with purchasing managers to establish optimal order quantities, inventory targets, and turnover objectives.

  • Manage inventory quality and accuracy assurance program

  • Create, install, and/or monitor inventory management system

  • Coordinate physical inventory process and cycle counts

  • Monitor the inventory flow through system

  • Organize stock to optimize work flow, space utilization, and sales objectives in the store

Position Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and leadership qualities

  • Ability to organize inventory and analyze data to determine business needs

  • Know how to trouble shoot, problem solve, and work well under pressure

Job Title: Key Holder (Full Time)

Purpose and Scope

A Key Holder usually has more experience than their colleagues and takes on added responsibilities to help operate the store in a responsible manner. A Key Holder ensures that all of the important duties of opening and closing the store are fulfilled at all times.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the staff in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager

  • Maintain security of the store and understand the operations of the store security system

  • During opening: unlock the doors, inspect the property, deactivate the overnight security system and turn on any indoor or outdoor lights

  • During closing: activate the security system, and making sure the store is secure and locked with no customers or employees remaining inside

  • Responsible for protecting the keys used 24 hours a day

  • Entrusted as the emergency contact for local police or a private security firm that monitors the property

  • In the event of an alarm activation or suspected security breach, the Key Holder must go to the retail location to deactivate the alarm and make sure that the store is safe, before locking once again

  • Assist store management in merchandising the store in accordance with company directed standards

  • Comply with all company directed policies and procedures as they relate to the store operations; receiving of merchandise, store opening and closing, cash register transactions, daily cash reconciliation and inventory control

Position Requirements

Job Title: Tailor (Full Time/Part Time)

Purpose and Scope

Responsible for partnering with sales associates to satisfy customers' expectations for fit, alterations, re-sizing and re-styling of all merchandise in John Varvatos store.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of mens' suit fitting and marking

  • Ability to accurately take measurements

  • Know how to use all types of marking tools (rulers, hem markers, etc)

  • Be accurate and productive in marking and pinning

  • Adhere to the company standards regarding dress and appearance

  • Perform and complete alterations/tailor fittings according to John Varvatos guidelines and service standards

  • Organize workload and complete items on time

  • Meet or exceed productivity targets

  • Follow through on customer needs in a timely manner

  • Actively build and maintain product knowledge through an awareness of fit, style, construction and trends

  • Educate customers and employees on proper fit, shop procedures and guidelines in a professional and friendly manner

Position Requirements

  • Strong understanding of men's fitting and marking

  • Strong work ethic

  • Create an exceptional experience for the customer from the initial fitting to the finished product
