Multi-Dimensional Experience

This multi-dimensional experience uses interactive sessions with senior leaders, group discussion, business simulation, networking and mentoring opportunities to provide valuable insight for immediate relevance and impact. This is an engaging, high-energy and fun program, so apply if you want the opportunity to:

  • Directly work with the sales team and sales leaders in developing new prospects, qualifying through R&D, and following through with an entire sales cycle

  • Learn MMA Northeast's proprietary sales model and how to apply it in a business setting

  • Collaborate with both sales and service teams to accomplish wins and create engagement

  • How to increase your visibility and brand, network, influencer mentality

  • Utilize world class resources and sales tools in order to maximize ROI from sales/prospecting efforts

  • Build Sales Discipline building work weeks and routines metrics utilization and developing process in order to achieve sales goals

  • Develop your professional skills through on-the-job learning, technical training and leadership exposure.

  • Participate in an organization wide Intern Learning Series collaborating with fellow interns across the U.S. and beyond

  • Grow your skill set and knowledge to support future school and career plans.

Program Requirements

Full-time student currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate College or University and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree

The internship program gives students the chance to explore all areas of the firm to find their interest and best fit in the insurance industry. Interns will apply concepts learned in the classroom to actual projects and experiences to develop professional skills and business acumen applicable to fast-paced, goal-driven business environments. MMA's goal is to provide interns with insight into all aspects of the profession and act as a springboard to full-time careers in the field desired. Interns will have experiences in all areas of the firm: * Property & Casualty Risk Management Consulting * Employee Benefits & Human Capital Consulting * Data Analytics & Analysis * Employer Services Safety & Compliance * Marketing & Communications * Operations Management & Production * Management & Executive Leadership In this skills-based internship our cohort of interns will focus on skills-based projects and experiences while at the same time taking part in our corporate initiatives including, but not limited to, volunteering as an organization, team-building with colleagues and social activities. Core competencies to be developed include: * Collaborative work with a team, independent work * Problem-solving, researching, consulting * Positioning ideas, influencing decisions * Analyzing data, drawing conclusions, making recommendations * Creating a project plan & executing * Writing, presentation development, presenting * Building relationships, networking * Flexibility, adaptation, prioritization * Receiving feedback on performance and how to utilize Individual & weekly group meetings will take place with the internship mentor leader to: * Debrief events of week and discuss learnings (through journaling activities) * Share how classroom knowledge is being applied * Determine & work on individual & group projects * Learn about world-of-work topics (examples include: leadership, workplace culture, networking, career pathing, personal brand development, corporate community stewardship) Brief examples of intern experiences: * Work with consulting team to research business prospect to understand goals as an organization, risks it has in achieving those goals, recommendations of solutions to mitigate those risks, and crafting a final proposal. * Analyzing business loss and insurance coverage for a business prospect/client to determine exposure and opportunities for risk management program development. * Interacting with business prospects and clients at trade shows, exhibitor fairs and social networking opportunities. * Meeting with firm leadership to understand firm goals and how they are set and measured. * Developing social media/marketing strategies and learning about brand positioning. Desired Qualifications: * This position requires a motivated, self-starter with the ability to take initiative, seek answers and share information. Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy team while maintaining a positive attitude. * Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. * Ability to take on special tasks and projects as time allows. * Computer experience with, Outlook, Excel Spreadsheets, Word documents, Internet search and ability to learn Agency Management Systems.
