Sales Intern - Los Angeles, Orange County, Northern SD

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Sales Intern will be responsible for identifying customers who are purchasing Promega products, and, along with current Promega contacts, will enrich CRM with complete contact information that includes Lab Name and tagging with keywords. They will start with Strategic accounts and work towards high potential Development accounts as defined by the Southern California Sales Team.

The successful candidate will work together with the Southern California Sales Team to map out customers by Market Segment and Engage as shown below:

CORE DUTIES:

1.Academic and Clinical Accounts:

  • Sales Analysis and Contact Management:

  • Analyze the daily sales report and extract the sales from academic and clinical accounts.

  • Cross-reference names with CRM and LinkedIn to identify if contact has been made or if it's a new contact (using CRM Timeline/email tracking).

  • Tag contacts with relevant programs (and keywords in CRM) such as NLSU, AAP, or if they are part of a CORE lab.

  • On-Site Engagement:

  • Aid in on-site table shows at academic accounts (organizing food and helping with lead capture).

  • In-person visits to key labs within academic accounts within the region along with the client representative.

  • Client Development:

  • Map contacts to allow the Client Representative to increase direct business, develop new relationships, and capture important information on CRM for successful marketing campaigns and outreach.

  • Follow up on sample submissions.

2.Biotech, Pharma, and Incubator Accounts:

  • Sales Analysis and Contact Management:

  • Analyze the daily sales report and extract the sales from Biotech, Pharma, and incubator accounts.

  • Cross-reference names with CRM and LinkedIn to identify if contact has been made or if it's a new contact (using CRM Timeline/email tracking).

  • Fill in information about the product purchased and if a Helix unit is on site.

  • Contact Mapping:

  • Aid in mapping contacts at incubators, pharma, and biotech within CRM.

  • Map out incubator sites and list the tenants at each site, identifying their company focus (using Excel).

  • Update account information in CRM if a tenant company is already listed.

  • Proactive Outreach:

  • Tag NLSU as a program for the tenants that recently joined the incubator and reach out proactively using Email/LinkedIn.

  • In-Person Engagement:

  • Be available to aid in coordination of on-site events at various accounts.

  • In-person visits to accounts along with the client representative.

  • Follow-Up:

  • Follow up on sample submissions via email.

3.Events and Meetings:

  • Vendor Shows and Customer Visits:

  • Help the Sales Team organize Helix Launch parties, lunch and learn events, and customer visits to support these events.

  • Meeting Organization:

  • Organize customer meetings and capture the meeting details in CRM.

4.Workplace Conduct:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Undergraduate pursuing a degree or recent graduate majoring in science and/or business.

2.Interest in the business of biotech and basics of selling.

3.Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

4.Outstanding organizational and intrapersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Ability to travel, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1.Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications.

2.Ability to move up to 25 pounds.

3.Ability to walk up to 5 km during the course of an 8-hour workday.
