Jacobs, one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical, professional and construction services, is looking for a Sales Intern in the Fort Walton office. We are seeking an individual to support the Fort Walton Sales Center with various business development efforts, which may include:
Handling correspondence and interacting between departments and groups
Supporting business development efforts, to include preparation of meeting materials using MS PowerPoint, participation in writing assignments using MS Word, and spreadsheet development and modifications using MS Excel
Conducting special assignments such as researching management and technical systems and processes; researching customer organizations; researching competition organizations; helping craft innovative management and technical approaches; and assisting with proposal writing assignments
Performing other duties as assigned
Our internship program provides an opportunity for participants to gain real-world, practical experience in a particular area of expertise while enabling Jacobs to identify future leaders and innovators. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and in support of a group of professionals in Business Development, Pricing, and Creative Services. The Sales Intern will work closely with the Fort Walton area Sales Leads, Business Development Principals and Coordinators, and will participate primarily in the support of business development efforts.
Interns may be expected to assist in many areas of proposal support. Additional requirements may include extensive reading to interpret and understand Government requirements, interfacing with Business Development and Creative Services Coordinators, and proofreading and editing of existing sales related proposal documentation. Must be a current student in good standing majoring in one of the fields of study listed below at an accredited college or university. Must have at least 30 credit hours of coursework completed. Due to the nature of our work with clients, it is mandatory that the successful candidate be a US Citizen.
Qualified interns must be able to follow instructions and adhere to specific guidelines and requirements. Candidates must possess problem solving skills and abilities and may be called upon to proofread and edit text, data, and graphics. Other qualifications include:
General business and mathematics knowledge and skills as well as familiarity with standard office procedures and equipment
Proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
Ability to utilize professional discretion, confidentiality, and be able to work with the utmost integrity
A background in Business, Marketing, Science, Engineering, English, Communications, Journalism, or other similarly related major field of study
A strong commitment to safety of oneself and others
Position may involve extended periods of sitting, standing, and working on PC's.
Work is performed in a normal office environment.

Use of general office equipment to include PC, Fax, Printers, Phones, etc.
Must be dependable and punctual.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
