Job Description

Starting rate of $15.00 per hour for those above 18 years of age, or $12.75 per hour for those under 18 years of age. Part-Time positions available 20-30 hours a week, working days or nights during the week and at least 1 weekend day.

Starting work after school can be accommodated. We are looking for candidates that will work February/March through the summer or year long. Established in 1845, Clarks Ace Hardware is owned by Margaret Clark and has been in the Clark family since before the Civil War.

A Sales Associate works directly with the store managers and the store team to meet or exceed company goals through teamwork. A Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring that each customer has an exceptional experience by understanding and consistently executing the S.A.L.E.S. process and all daily store tasks as assigned while following store policies and procedures. Sales Associates are required to work on average a minimum of 12 hours and no more than 29 hours a week unless directly authorized by the company.

A break is required each workday based on MD labor laws. Sales Associates will fully embody the company's core values and what it means to be "The Helpful Place." Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Customer Ready: Maintain a clean and neat appearance, have a radio and on, name tag, and a winning attitude. •Customer Experience:

Use the S.A.L.E.S. process for every customer, every time. Clarks is defined by our customer service and customers expect exceptional service every time they shop with us. •Customer Responsibilities: Resolves customer issues and answers questions; Drives sales through the engagement of customers; Suggestive selling and sharing product knowledge; Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner; Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise; Directs customers by escorting them to aisles and counters; Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of ACE Reward member sales and perks; and Serves as backup Cashier, as needed. •Communication:

Ensure open, professional, and clear communication. Relay issues in a constructive way and help solve issues with guidance. •Accountability: Show up on time, be reliable and flexible in working the shifts scheduled, find replacements for shifts, and complete job responsibilities each day with accuracy and thoroughness to protect company assets. •Coaching and Training:

Meet with a manager monthly on development for growth. Complete a minimum of 1-2 hours of Ace Learning Place classes each month with direction and approval from management to master knowledge in each department. •Ace Rewards and B2B: Actively engage each customer in asking if they have an Ace Rewards card or have a business account. Sign the customer up or pass on the lead to another associate to complete. •May be required to work overtime and/or on weekends, as needed. •Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Customer service or cashier experience preferred. Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Standing is required constantly. $15
