Job Description:

Summary of Position

  • Responsible for assisting with the complete operations of assigned store, in conjunction with assigned tasks and duties.

  • Assist in the merchandising of the store.

  • Fully cross-trained to assist with cash register operations, customer service and stock replenishment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle all sales transactions while operating assigned cash register.

  • Maintains security of all cash.

  • Protects all company assets.

  • Maintains a high level of good customer service.

  • Maintains a pleasant, friendly, cooperative attitude with customers, co-workers and supervisors.

  • Receives merchandise.

  • Assist with unloading trucks.

  • Works in a safe manner.

  • Adheres to and upholds policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • General math skills to allow for cash accounting.

  • Strong verbal communication skills to allow for proper interaction with customers.

  • High level of integrity and honesty; will be responsible for handling cash.

Job Function: Nursing Employment Type: Per Diem Hours per Pay Period .2 (less than 16 hours p/pp) Job Shift: Day Weekend/Holiday Rotation: No Summary of Position: Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room (OR) and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN Circulating Nurse is responsible for the following duties (but not limited to): * Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Surgery Center, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. * Assist the Surgery Center Surgical Technologist in the preparation of the assigned room and is responsible for the maintenance of all supplies, solutions, etc. in that room. * Care is provided based on ages of the population served; 1 year through geriatric - 65 years or older. * Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. * Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served in the Surgery Center. * Functions as a circulating nurse, assisting the surgical team during procedures, accurately and according to policy, performs surgical counts with scrub personnel. * Prepares the OR for cases, assists in room turnover. Qualifications Education: ●Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program Experience: * Previous OR experience preferred * Completion of AORN Periop 101 course to be completed within 6 months of hire if no experience in the perioperative setting. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision. * Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. * Proficient computer skills * In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred Certifications/Licensure: * Current Nevada RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date * Current California RN license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. * Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date * CNOR preferred * ACLS certification required * PALS certification required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Essential Functions * Provides consistently exceptional care at all times. * Provides patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with others as required and adjusts care plan as necessary to ensure optimal care. * Performs systems assessment at designated and appropriate intervals on all assigned patients, recognizing disturbed physiology and abnormal parameters. * Assesses pain levels on all patients; * Upon initial assessment * Reassesses according to departmental standards * Evaluates location, severity, intensity and quality of pain. * Uses approved pain scale for measurement * Reevaluates pain level in response to intervention/ treatment * Based on assessment findings, writes initial nursing history, and develops an individualized care plan for each assigned patients. * Medication administration is safe, accurate and timely * Safely administers medications utilizing 5 rights of medication administration. * Follows all safety precautions related to patient ID, order confirmation, calculations and double-checking dose accuracy if applicable. * Follows procedure when removing meds from floor stock * Signs and ensures all narcotic wastage is witnessed. * Documents all medication intervention to include rationale for PRN medications. * Reports all Adverse Drug Events (ADE) according to policy. ADE=ADR (Adverse Drug Reaction) & Medication Errors * Accurately and safely administers sedation/analgesia. Monitors patient response, ensures patient safety during procedure and documents according to policy & procedure. Utilizes moderate sedation (following appropriate policy/procedure) while assisting with regional anesthesia placement or local with MAC. * Assists the surgical team in patient monitoring. Reports any untoward change in patient condition to appropriate individual(s). * Recognizes unusual conditions outside of his/her expertise and seeks guidance of coworkers or supervisor. * Functions as a circulating nurse * Assists with patient positioning to maximize access to operative site while ensuring patient safety and comfort. * Identifies and ensures surgical specimens are handled according policy * Accurately performs surgical count with scrub personnel at specified timeframes. * Safely transfers patient * Accurately communicates information to recovery personnel * Accurately communicates with surgical technologist all pertinent information regarding implants (size, type, product, and serial numbers) and documents this information in the implant log. Collaborates with surgical technologist to accurately complete implant/explant logs. * Accurately picks cases according to scheduled procedure and surgeon preferences. Is proactive in reviewing and revising surgeon preference cards and initial pick sheets. * Assists surgical technologist in ordering and stocking of inventory and procurement of special equipment and instrumentation as requested by the physician. * If competency has been verified, functions as scrub nurse at a basic level for each surgical specialty. * Accurately sets-up back table, instruments and supplies according to type of case * Maintains aseptic technique and monitors for breeches in technique * Functions as a team leader * Completes assessments in a timely manner * Supports team members offering assistance and guidance. * Works together to ensure rooms are turnover at the beginning and end of procedures. * Communicates effectively with team members. * Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. * As needed, operates c-arm/fluoroscopy during procedures. * Keeps patient/family informed of progress, procedures, and disposition.
