Sales & Business Development are key functions within IHS Markit. Regulatory & Compliance Solutions are a key driver of growth and the person will be responsible for selling products within the following business lines:

  • KYC Services

  • Tax Services

  • KY3P and all TPRM tools

  • MCPM / Regulatory Services

This position will cover the BENELUX region initially but could also cover the Nordic and/or the DACH region depending on experience. This position could also be located in one of our regional offices in Amsterdam or Frankfurt if a suitable candidate is found.

Responsibilities:

Your role will be focused on selling IHS Markit's industry leading products and services to all participants within the financial markets. The next Sales Associate Director will be responsible for generating new sales opportunities, managing their pipeline efficiently and working effectively with the regional and global heads of sales to ensure targets are met. The candidate will be the main driver of revenue acquisition for their specialist product line and will ensure that the business goals are achieved. The candidate will be integral to the team structure - working closely with the Heads of Sales, other sales & account managers, the product and production teams.

Specifically these include:

  • Generation of lead pipeline for new business and existing clients (cold Calling and generating leads)

  • Set up a sales plan with key deliverables and objectives.

  • Maintain communication with your accounts by being in regular contact with your key users and build a position of trust, respect and openness with the view to generate new business across all product lines.

  • Listen and identify the client's needs and feedback any cross selling opportunities to relevant product line Sales team. For multi-product opportunities, the relevant sales people will be involved and a sales referral will be recorded.

  • Maintain pipeline and generate management reports (Meetings, leads list, user list) from Salesforce.

  • Keeping product knowledge to a high standard for your defined product area and a referral standard for IHS Markit's other product lines and stay aware of any future development.

  • Being a point person for their allocated product providing understanding of clients, technical information, product characteristics.

  • Active participation in Sales Conferences/ Special Events sales collateral production, client entertainment; association memberships. It is expected that you will help drive these activities for their product line so as to maximize sales revenue and retention.

Requirements:

  • Proven understanding of the sales process and key drivers to closing deals

  • Ability to present and negotiate with senior level management whilst in many cases, managing complex sales process. The person must be confident in high pressure environment and able to initiate and participate effectively in senior level meetings.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required.

  • Self-starter, driven, personable, assertive and resourceful.

  • Must be organised and able to manage multiple sales in parallel.

  • Ability to generate own pipeline from cold calls.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Salesforce and PowerPoint.

Preferred competencies:

  • Compliance domain knowledge would be preferable.

  • Understanding of US & Global Tax Reporting Regimes is preferable.

  • German, Dutch speaking candidates would be advantageous but not mandatory.
