Siemens Industry is growing! We arecurrently looking for an experienced Sales Estimator to support our BuildingAutomation Sales Group located in Norcross, GA. The primary responsibility ofthe Sales Estimator is to complete sales estimates for the sales team includingproject take-offs, specification interpretation and associated activities.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Prepares cost estimates and price quotations on newwork, and coordinates the preparation of cost estimates on projectcontinuations
Collects information from other functions, vendors, subcontractors to complete sales quotations as needed
Assists sales team(s) in configuring systems includingconstructing riser diagrams
Leads, coordinates, and assumes responsibility for thetimely generation and documentation of estimates and quotes utilized in thepreparation of proposals for building automation solutions
Obtains quotes from outside vendors for ancillaryproducts and services
Ensures timely response to sales, allowing for proposalpreparation, workability, system operation, cost, and completeness of packagegiven to sales
Activities will include bid project take-offs,interpretation of specifications, development of bill of materials (BOM) andother activities
May attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs todevelop deeper customer and project understanding
Completes research activities on Dodge On-Line andinforms sales team(s) to promote understanding of project scopes, phases andtiming
Works with customers and employees to answer technicaland pricing questions, preparation of technical quotes, some development andmaintenance of technical documentation, customer expediting and order entry
Maintains complete files for all equipment used to generatequotes and assists in turnover process when quotes become an order
Completes all record keeping entries and documentationon quotes within sales estimating tools. Assists with ongoing maintenance ofSales Estimating tools and SAP as needed.
Supports Lunch & Learn activities with engineers.
Associate's Degree in Engineering desired, but willconsider candidates with equivalent education and experience (a High SchoolDiploma or GED equivalency a minimum requirement)
3-5 years Building automation systems experience andknowledge, but will consider candidates with related experience in a similarindustry such as electrical.
Desirable to have experience using an Estimating/Quotingsystem
Must be able to read plans/specs
