As a Sales Engineer, you will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective, existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks. You will also be part of a diverse team of fellow Googlers working in an environment of respect and inclusion where we promote equal opportunities to succeed.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience as a Technical (Pre) Sales Engineer in a Cloud Computing or B2B software company in a customer-facing role.

  • Experience in traditional datacenter architectures and components.

  • Experience in one of the following: cloud migration, disaster recovery, application/servers assessment and discovery.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or other technical field

  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms, including infrastructure, storage, platforms.

  • Experience in areas of networking, including Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.

  • Experience in security matter (e.g.,Authentication Protocols, Identity and Access Management Systems, Key Management Systems, encryptions, securing complex cloud architectures, Network and End-Points Security).

  • Experience with deployment methodologies and technologies (CI/CD, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).

  • Knowledge and experience with Windows, Linux system administration, and/or Enterprise applications.

  • Challenge and inspire customers and peers to solve difficult problems with ambitious and novel solutions leveraging a sophisticated set of technical competences.

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer technical objections and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.

  • Manage the technical relationship with Google's customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.

  • Work hands-on with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.

  • Recommend migration strategies, enterprise architectures, migration tools and cloud infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud and travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

As a Customer Engineer for the Financial Services Vertical, you will engage with named accounts and channel partners to understand and assess customer requirements, prepare and present demonstrations of Google's Cloud technologies, and address and overcome technical objections that arise throughout the sales process. This is an opportunity to be a part of a growing vertical within Google Cloud, while working with some of the biggest customers in the Financial Services Industry. You'll be developing new relationships with business unit leaders to more deeply understand their unique company and industry challenges to influence their perspective of Google Cloud solutions. You will do this with deep industry understanding so that you will be able to engage in communicating the business value of "One Google", while ultimately driving shareholder value. Preferred qualifications: * Experience working with web/internet related technologies, architecture across SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and cloud productivity suites. Knowledge of solution architecture within web and mobile environments. * Experience in SEC, FINRA, CFTC, ISO 27001, Financial Services, Banking, Compliance, Infrastructure, Modernization, Phishing and Ransomware, and financial auditing. * Ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical audiences, from developers to CEOs. * Ability to understand an account's software estate, its existing use of products, and to identify expansion opportunities. * Ability to work across multiple divisions and organizations to position and orchestrate an overall solution consisting of multiple products. * Meet with customers and participate directly in key agreements and accounts. Prepare and deliver product messaging to highlight the Google Cloud value proposition specific to the vertical and/or customer. * Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include solution briefings, proof of concept work, and coordination of supporting technical resources. * Make Solutions-based recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to implement a complete solution tailored to the account or industry. * Lead detailed strategy in generating industry-specific business growth opportunities for Google Cloud. * Manage multiple opportunities through the entire cycle simultaneously, working with cross functional teams as necessary and serve as a customer Vertical contact for adoption-related activities.
