SUMMARY

The overall purposes of the Sales Engineer position include, but are not limited to:

  • Generating new clients and continue to develop relationships with existing customers

  • Secure new construction and service related projects

  • Meet or exceed department goals for maintenance agreements and revenue

  • Successfully deal with client concerns regarding current or past work

  • Mechanical system design: HVAC, Plumbing, Process Piping, Energy Savings

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining a sufficient knowledge of products and design criteria needed to adequately analyze and market the department's services for related projects

  • Follow up on all sales leads and projects from Service Technicians

  • Maintain a wide-ranging prospect list

  • Prospect for new Service Clients

  • Determine client needs and evaluate company resources and capabilities in light of those needs

  • Develop relationships with existing and new Service Clients

  • Prepare estimates and written quotes in a timely manner

  • Follow up with clients on the status of quoted work

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy

  • Prospect for and sell maintenance agreements to build base business

  • Ensure that all billing details are given to accounting on time

  • Identify problems on job site, gather information, and rectify

  • Assist Service Technicians with job site problems

  • Relay prospective solutions to clients

  • Get feedback from clients during and after job completion

  • Procurement of equipment and materials required for projects

  • Work with Dispatcher on scheduling for all projects

  • Review outstanding accounts receivable weekly and maintain department goals

  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs

  • Design mechanical systems including drawings and P.E. stamp

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering

  • Professional Engineering License

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the sales process in collaboration with the estimating and management team

  • Must be able to make decisions and recommendations which can greatly impact corporate relationships with clients and profitability of projects

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Self-motivated and results oriented
