Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Meet or exceed sales budgets for all telecommunications products assigned
Actively work and engage with a three person team covering Georgia and Alabama
Obtain and increase Corning product and solutions expertise
Develop and execute written territory, opportunity, and account plans
Generate new business and maintain existing strategic account base
Ensure a balanced mix of sales call to end users, distributors, contractors, and consultants (channels)
Provide ongoing training with channels and customers
Diligent in documenting activities and reporting results (salesforce.com)
Leverage certified contractor and consultant programs
Manage expense and promotional item budgets
Submit monthly reports to the Regional Sales Manager on time
Report competitive and quality concerns through weekly report
Work with internal Product Line Management to address specific customer product needs
Maximize internal Corning resources to meet customer needs
Participate in regional trade shows
BS/BA or equivalent degree required
Willing to travel up to 75%, primarily via automobile
Work virtually from a home-based office
Two (2) years of sales, marketing or engineering experience preferred.
Fiber Optic Communications and Distributed Antenna (Wireless) Industry product knowledge preferred
