As a Sales Director for Simpay, you will be directly responsible for building and leading a team in your geographic area, while simultaneously producing sales and procuring referral partners.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of Sales Representatives (outside B2B sales representatives) by providing the following:

  • Directly supporting sales reps in the field while providing personal production.
  • Execute Simpay training processes.
  • Be proficient in Industry knowledge, staying on top of the latest in industry developments.
  • Generate ongoing sales of new and existing customers and provide a localized manager presence in select areas as determined.
  • Help identify and procure new sales professionals as well as referral partners.
  • Manage a consistent pipeline for both the team as well as themselves.
  • Ability to recognize and tailor individual Sales rep training needs to ensure they integrate quickly and successfully into the organization.
  • The Sales Directors is expected to be out in the field training, and leading sales reps in sales transactions in addition to prospecting and closing their own new merchant accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Receive direction and execute reporting requirements and communication to their Manager as requested.
  • Assist in all recruitment efforts on an ongoing basis.
  • Attend required leadership meetings which may include some travel for F2F meetings.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and supportive manner with the Sales leadership team.
  • Actively participates and contributes to all sales and training sessions as requested.
  • Receive coaching and feedback and willingness to implement recommendations into the sales process.


Qualified candidates will possess:

  • A minimum of 5+ years in the payments industry with a proven track record in building and leading successful sales teams
  • Strong industry knowledge throughout the payments ecosystem.
  • Ability to travel in a local/regional capacity on a regular basis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A strong personal and professional network.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Takes on personal accountability for achieving Sales Director KPIs
  • Ability to analyze credit card statements and present new proposals.
  • Work with integrity, a positive attitude, and being a team player at all times while driving to leave a lasting mark in the industry.
  • Strong knowledge in sales cycles in multiple industry vertical markets (restaurant and hospitality, retail, B2B, E-commerce, etc)
  • Strong leadership skills, work ethic and previous training experience.

This role will lead a regional team of Business Development staff to drive growth in key target markets in the east / mid-Atlantic region, while working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders. Come be a part of our nationally-ranked and award-winning team!</p><p>This is a remote position with travel based on the candidate's location.</p><p>What you will be doing</p><ul><li><p>Oversees development of on-going client services within Division.</p></li><li><p>Develops business development budgets in coordination with Division Operations management.</p></li><li><p>Develops project pursuit strategy with Area Operational leadership for assigned division supporting corporate strategy.</p></li><li><p>Attends and participates in industry outreach and informational events to gain local contacts and identify possible project work for the Company.</p></li><li><p>Participates in industry outreach and informational events to identify possible project work and improve company's brand recognition.</p></li><li><p>Provides strategic input to help achieve shortlist selection and create responsive Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) submittals.</p></li><li><p>Organizes pursuit list and regularly communicates to team and upper management about priorities and business development activity.</p></li><li><p>Maintains connection with key owners and agencies in the relevant geographic area.</p></li><li><p>Tracks and maintains an accurate list of key pursuits and respective business development activity.</p></li><li><p>Identifies opportunities in contract specifications to strategically use subcontract or Joint Venture (JV) partnerships to advance the goals of the company.</p></li><li><p>Prepares and negotiates designer agreements, subcontractor agreements, and Joint Venture (JV) agreements using Company approved processes and documentation.</p></li><li><p>Tracks the pursuit process through the life of the pursuit to ensure submittal is compliant with requested information and delivered by the designated deadline.</p></li><li><p>Works with estimating team to calculate and confirm final project budget, Company margin and recommended bid price. Provides industry, competitor and Owner information and insight to ensure Company final recommendation is competitive.</p></li><li><p>Promotes Company. Embodies Company values and ethics in all interactions with personal and professional contacts.</p></li><li><p>Submits forecast reporting on prospective project work to District or Corporate Operational leadership to ensure work is aligned to business model and Company strategies.</p></li><li><p>Oversees and supports the collection and creation of proposal documents during all phases of the pursuit process to ensure final product is market quality and includes all required aspects of the request.</p></li><li><p>Attends and participates in project hand-off calls for all won projects between pursuit and construction teams to ensure accurate transfer of contract specifications and Owner expectations to project management team.</p></li><li><p>Maintains knowledge of Company's values and strategic plan.</p></li><li><p>Performs additional assignments per management's direction.</p></li></ul><p>What we are looking for</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.</p></li><li><p>15+ years' experience in business development or similar experience required.</p></li><li><p>Infrastructure construction industry experience required.</p></li><li><p>Transit industry experience a plus.</p></li><li><p>Proven industry leadership; recognized by internal and external peers.</p></li><li><p>Develops long-term client services management.</p></li><li><p>Collaborates with preconstruction, marketing, and proposal leaders to ensure consistent project wins.</p></li><li><p>Able to identify, prioritize, organize and track construction projects.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of commercial contract terms and conditions.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
