The Sales Director will lead sales, business development and customer relationship management activities for the newly acquired Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Packaging segment (Tri State Distribution, a Consolidated Container Company). The Sales Director will play a key role in shaping the future commercial strategy for the business and will be personally involved with strategic/key accounts while managing field sales personnel, commercial strategy development/execution, tracking and reporting of current and new business development pipeline and management to agreed-upon financial and performance objectives. The position reports to the Vice President of the Pharma Packaging Business Unit.
This is a 100% travel role. Candidates can be located anywhere in the United States, with preferred regions being Atlanta area or West Coast.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop commercial strategies and find business opportunities to increase market share and expand into new markets for the Company's portfolio of plastic packaging (pharmaceutical vials, liquid bottles, custom caps, ointment jars, syringes & bottle adapters).
Work closely with Division management and related segment peers to build a competitive product mix as well as pricing and margin.
Define metrics and track performance of the sales team with a strategic market-focus approach.
Use competitive analysis and market research to drive business goals.
Daily hands-on execution of sales objectives to achieve KPIs, including sales reporting, market mapping and analytics, pipeline management, bid preparation etc. in order to drive growth in identified markets.
Provide leadership to the sales organization including motivating, mentoring, coaching, hiring, development succession planning, and performance improvement initiatives to drive profitable growth and develop and execute innovative market strategies.
Build and/or maintain a strong, sustainable relationship with strategic customers and partners by reinforcing quality, continuous innovation, and solution selling.
Uses strong financial knowledge and business acumen to develop the annual sales budgets and forecasts, broken down into specific objectives and measures for the sales team in alignment with overall business objectives.
Collaborative and include appropriate business functions across the company and within the sales team create buy-in both internally and with external customers.

Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related discipline or equivalent experience
Willing and able to travel 100% by air and car
A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales role in a similar industry or calling on a similar customer base
Proven track record of obtaining new customers; a "hunter"
Excellent communication skills and the ability to negotiate with a demonstrated background of closing deals
Greenfield sales, value selling, or solution selling experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) to build budgets and forecasts and to create presentations.
Knowledge of and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRMs) and sales pipeline management tools for tracking and reporting of current and future opportunities.
Packaging sales experience in the plastics industry (pill bottles, vials)
Experience calling on customers in the pharmaceutical, pharmacy, healthcare, nutraceutical, nutrition, health & wellness, supplements, and specialty pharmacy verticals or related industries
Experience with large, national accounts and/or partnering with distributors
Experience building out a sales organization; entrepreneurial mindset
Experience managing a team of inside and outside sales representatives
