McClatchy is hiring a Sales Development Representative for our Excelerate Digital team!

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is an important role on the Excelerate Digital team and is the primary Lead Generation/Appointment Setter responsible for outbound appointment setting of new and non-traditional digital advertisers for a team of strategic sales reps throughout the business. In addition to setting appointments, this role is also responsible for developing quality leads that have the highest propensity to close by utilizing department and company resources, including but not limited to Client Success Specialists, Strategic Account Managers, analysts, and key data insight tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete a minimum of 80-100 outbound calls per day to new businesses from provided and self-generated lead lists

  • Identify and Qualify leads within designated areas utilizing insights, data and resources

  • Engage influencers and decision makers from lead lists

  • Gather sales intelligence and provide pre-call notes to reps, utilizing client success specialists as needed

  • Confirm set appointments through acceptance of calendar invites and full use of SalesForce to collaborate and communicate internally and externally

  • Build impactful relationships and identify needs over the phone

  • Understand, communicate and apply features and benefits of robust digital marketing services and solutions portfolio

  • Create interest in digital services with prospective customers to obtain appointment for sales team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in prospecting

  • Experience: Cold calling and appointment setting experience a plus

  • Skills:
    This person must be highly organized, with charismatic and varied communication style. Familiar with both online and offline work. Juggles priorities with boundaries on behalf of both the agency and client. Communicates skillfully. Driven to exceed goals and is persistent.

  • Some occasional travel may be required.
