Sales Development Program

Schneider Electric is currently recruiting students to be a part of a powerful and unique experience for top December 2019 and May 2020 graduates interested in a leadership career in Sales and Customer Projects.

Within Schneider Electric, the Partner Business is a strong global leader in low voltage and building automation. Square D, our flagship brand in the U.S., provides market-leading electrical distribution and industrial control products, systems and services for the distribution, application and control of electricity.

The purpose of the Square D Sales Development Program is to accelerate learning and placement of early career new hires into the Partner Sales and Commercial Operations organization. The program is comprised of a structured 12-16-week training program introducing you to our customers, products, tools, services and processes.

The program is centralized in Franklin, TN, and therefore, candidates must be mobile and willing to relocate for both the development program and next role assignment. Upon successfully completing this program, you will be placed in one of the following positions that best matches your competency skill set:

  1. Inside Sales Engineer

In this position, you will be responsible for increasing sales within the small and medium business through acquiring and growing new contractor business. Consistent and effective communication with internal and external partners will facilitate identification opportunities for growth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recommending and quoting Schneider Electric products and services, quote/opportunity follow-up to increase hit rate by using expertise developed in selling skills and technical knowledge, positioning Square D into preferred position in market and customer activity, and providing technical knowledge regarding products/services.
2) Customer Project Specialist

This position manages basic customer project orders in a Field Sales office. This includes initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing customer projects.

You will confirm customer requirements including drawings, specifications, job site requirements, bill of material alignment with specifications and clarifying exceptions. The Customer Project Specialist manages the complete job process from order preparation through manufacturing release, product shipment, post shipment support, and financial reconciliation using a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products.

This job might be for you if:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Preferably in Engineering, Construction Management, Sales or Business majors with Project Management Specialization

  • Knowledge of Electrical Distribution products or Electric Distribution Industry is favorable

  • Technical Aptitude and commitment to learn about Electrical Industry and build Relationships

  • Strong negotiation, communication, facilitation, time management and organizations skills needed

  • Internship experience highly preferred

  • Must be willing to travel and/or relocate

  • This position is unable to provide visa support for international candidates, now or in the future
